This stunning silver fox was rescued from the fur trade by the Ark, Boston, Lincolnshire. He is so friendly and curious!
He is a beauty!! He also looks like he's giving attitude but he spent the hour we were around there following us really closely, which made it really difficult to get the perfect image of him!! So we left him, reluctantly, and when we returned, he was at his highest point watching us... Click!!
Despite the ban of fur farming in the UK many years ago, the sale and import of FUR is still permitted in the UK and people continue to breed silver foxes, not for their pelts, but as exotic pets. Respected rescues such as the Ark and the Forever Foxy campaign are extremely keen to raise awareness because of this.

I could watch these cute fox kits playing all day.
Since it's March which makes me think of spring, which makes me think of baby animals, this week's theme is babies!
This Silver Fox is one of two captive foxes at Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary. For various reasons they cannot be returned to the wild. Silver Foxes are melanistic versions of red foxes and occur naturally in nature on a ratio of about 1:4.

Went out last evening to photograph adults but got distracted by this little black phase kit and silver phase adult that could not stop giving his mom kisses. He and his sibling later jumped all over her. It was delightful to watch them play, the family bond is very strong. There were 8 adults out at dusk tonight and 5 kits.
Finding wildlife in your yard is always an amazing experience. (Just tonight, we had a bull moose in our yard) Seeing a rare sight of a silver fox is even more exciting.
This beautiful fox walked into our life and stayed around for a few months. We have a lot of squirrels, some snowshoe hares and voles that live on our property, so this vixen had plenty of reason to stick around.
Taken in our yard, a silver fox vixen stares at the photographer. I was standing still on our deck, she must have heard the clicking of the shutter.
She sure was a beautiful fox. She came back a few times after this but then disappeared to never be seen again. I hope she went off and had a family of her own and lived a long life.
