Yep. Taken on May 22nd ... yesterday! We had our typical Victoria Day miserable weather this past weekend. 10-15 cm of snow. But, nothing to write home about here. Nothing to see. Move along. :-) It's been like this for as long as I can remember. In fact, one year I was fly fishing on the 10th of June and it was snowing so much the guides on the rod filled up with snow. I love snow, but I can't wait for just a little bit of that fictional global warming to become reality so that at least spring weather is actually spring weather! Being able to grow oranges and grapefruit in the backyard would be nice, too.
This is Lady Slipper Road, a logging road just west of Corner Brook. Took a ride yesterday to see if I could find any wildlife. There was over a foot of snow in places! I have my snow tires off and got stuck going up this hill. Just for a minute or so. Had to put it in 4-low in order to get out and back in my track though. Then I had to back down the hill in order to find a place to turn around.
As I said, nothing exceptional. Just a little adventure. I've had a few of those. And I did manage to get some nice shots of a Wilson's Snipe and a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. And I never saw so many robins before in my life! Thousands! And they all seemed to be interested in something on the dirt road where the snow was melting off it in places and in those tire tracks in the snow.
