I always liked this photo.
It was captured with my first digital camera almost 6 years ago. The colors are quite accurate but sharpness could have been better with some more control over the shutter time.
Anyways, I just like the silence of the moment and the thought of what happened milliseconds later. The calm sea and is just about to be shattered by the big splash and lots of laughter.
I dedicate this to one of my favorite contacts (cmvoelkel) She has an amazing eye. I especially love her museum images. Cheers my friend:)
Georgia State Sanitarium, formerly known as Georgia State Lunatic, Idiot, and Epileptic Asylum. Since the 60's it's been called Central State Hospital, but this more simplistic name doesn't lessen the horrors, nightmares & silent screams that have echoed in these hallways since 1842.

Another parasol photo, I decided to play around with layers and textures a bit. I was inspired by some photographs of silent film actresses(Clara Bow, Lillian Gish etc...), I wanted this to have that same feel.

I watched this guy for a good hour.
Silent, motionless and incredibly beautiful, this Heron eventually caught a small Dace of few ounces from the River Soar.
A lone, weathered tree stands defiant amidst the frozen marshlands, its skeletal branches etching silent echoes into the wintry void. A timeless guardian of solitude, enduring the weight of seasons in quiet resilience.

Just after the Northern Lights faded away on the evening of 3-17-15, this was the view looking up the CN railroad tracks (former IC-CC&P) near Genoa, IL. All was quiet except for a couple dogs barking at nearby farms.
After 5 days without my camera I have spent about 6 or 7 hours shooting. It was like meditation for me :)
Mouna Raagam (Silent Symphony) is one of the nicest Tamil movies that I have watched. And it has some of the best songs too. :)

A self-portrait done about a month ago when we had this silent snowfall here in Edinboro where the snow stuck to everything and there was no wind to knock it off the branches. It was absolutely beautiful.

old fave from 2012. taken with my first camera, a nikon d300s, before i really knew much about photography. my settings were 1/40, f/1.4, iso 1000, with no tripod. ha! don't even ask me how this came out fairly sharp! beginners luck i guess.
anyway, john and I set this up for our christmas card photo that year. our daughter, Boheme, was a newborn baby. i remember john holding her while i was shooting this--a big smile on his face. this was also the first and last year that I ever used fake snow on my windows. what a pain in the a$$ to clean up! ah, the memories a single photo brings forth. :)

The house stood silent, still, strong, the sunlight trying to breathe life back into it. The teal paint of the shutters pealing away. The windows seemed to be daring you to come and peak inside but the creaking and groaning of the porch said otherwise...

Batgirl and Gimili have spent the morning unpacking most of the printed parts! We think they look pretty good. There is even a little hint to a limited Silent Bat variant in the picture too.

41 silent silhouettes have been installed on Haughley village green to honour the 41 villagers who lost their lives in the 1st and 2nd world war. Each silhouette has a name. The window of Palmer's Bakery has a back story and/or a photo for each of these men. It's heartbreaking to read how young these men were.
