HGGT.. Have a cracking day.. thanks for any comments left..

On Sunday we had the privilege of watching 3 - possibly 4 - Great Grey Owls hunting on a stretch of road not far from town. It's always a thrill to be in the presence of these huge, beautiful birds but this experience was extra special as we'd never heard their call before or watched them interact with other owls, flying after each other into the trees.

... apart from those removed by people using infernally loud leaf blowers !-((

These Hydrangea petals look like butterfly wings...taken at the Fitzroy Garden Conservatory.

Best view enlarged.

The Conservatory went under a major renovation during the lockdown period of almost 2 years and had just re-open recently.

"How could a frail, sensitive woman fight the wind... a ghost more terrible because invisible—that wailed to her across waste places in the night, calling to her like a demon lover?"

All was silent as before -

All silent save the dripping rain.

Just one of those days, y'all! I'll try to catch up with everyone tonight when I get a few moments to myself.

" I want to hold the hand inside you

I want to take a breath that's true

I look to you and I see nothing

I look to you to see the truth

You live your life

You go in shadows

You'll come apart and you'll go blind

Some kind of light into your darkness

Colors your eyes with what's not there.

Fade into you

Strange you never knew

Fade into you

I think it's strange you never knew

A stranger's light comes on slowly

A stranger's heart without a home

You put your hands into your head

And then smiles cover your heart .. "

The colors of the evening .

Owls are unique, as their wing and feather features allow them to reduce locomotion-induced sound, allowing near silent flight.

Even though the magic of birds singing and flowers blooming and green returning is still happening this spring, somehow this celebration of nature seems muffled this year by the pall of pandemic. I still admire the beauty of spring, but my heart is going out to all those who are suffering - may Heaven help us all ...

"We stand now where two roads diverge. but unlike the roads in Robert Frost's familiar poem, they are not equally fair. The road we have long been traveling is deceptively easy, a smooth superhighway on which we progress with great ease, but at its end lies disaster. The other fork of the road - the one less traveled by - offers our last, our only chance to reach a destination that assures the preservation of the earth."

~ Rachel Carson, "Silent Spring"

This is not "abandoned" or "ruin" or the sort.

(Oh, I love those photos, serene and very sad atmosphere 😥...)

This is an old PUB. In Sydney's CBD and Saturday night. I was stunned nobody upstairs. Ground flower was very busy and we had a couple of beer. Here, only the human traces are some paper coasters on the table, still damp.

I thought people were abducted by UFO or something, still their beer glasses on their hands ... 😱

This is from last night (Friday night before Christmas) in a pub located in busy Sydney CBD. Very old building with multiple levels. Nobody was on this floor at all. I was stunned. We went up to the rooftop beer garden. Very busy with live music....

My voice falls silent on deaf ears

The words felt unspoken

Moments pass like years

In a world filled with silent screams

Can you hear my truths

Can you see my cuts

In a world filled with silent screams

I hear you....
