or in my case farewell to Essex. Despite living in Edinburgh for the past 6 years, Essex was where I was born and grew up, so left it for a while as we are moving to Australia on Sunday. On our way to Birmingham to celebrate my brother in laws 30th birthday.

Maldon Iron Works post with semicircular parish plate finial on the A133. It was still in good condition when this photo was taken in 2004 but soon after the arm was broken off. The crude repair left less than to be desired. NGR: TM 1088 2349
Beside the B1013 at TL 4490 3833. This is a Stanton post. It is unusually short and possibly shortened after suffering a breakage. Rounded ends to the arms and the delicate finial are characteristics of Stanton posts. Photo 2006
Gerard built a small sign. Everyone kept asking the same questions, "where did the bamboo come from" and "will it burn" so we got tired of yelling "Columbia! No Burn!" and built a sign.
