I liked the way this signpost looked lost in the middle of an overgrown plot even as it tried to point out the way to others ...
From a visit to Steveston Landing, in Vancouver, BC. Originally a fishing town, now part of Vancouver's urban sprawl.
A signpost in the Canary Wharf area, it points to "Jack Dash House." It is a wonder their hasn't been a campaign to rename it knowing what goes on in the area now. He was a bit of a Boggy Man in his time.
In his autobiography ...he said that the only epitaph he wanted was: "Here lies Jack Dash / All he wanted was / To separate them from their cash".
I did wonder what Idea Store was, it is apparently a Library and Community Centre.
Just couldn't resist this chance alignment.
Taken in Liverpool, where Church Street meets Bold Street.
This was taken in Henley, and I don't know why I took a photo of the signpost, I think it was the angle which I found cool :)
Anyway, on friday I'm going to Italy, so many a photo will be taken there, although probably only about 3 will actually make it to Flickr..
A useful signpost at the junction of Church St and Village Road, between Enfield and Winchmore Hill, North London. It seems to me that more such posts would be useful. There is another similar one a couple of miles south at Palmers Green, Triangle. This one was erected by the long gone Edmonton Urban District Council, when this was part of Middlesex.
Another very informative old signpost showing 12 destinations - near Saltoun,East Lothian on 25/8/84.
This might be intended to appeal to American visitors, but it's also a summary of Dylan Thomas' life. The sign pointing behind me is to Cwmdonkin Drive (0.1 miles) where he was born.
A signpost with the destinations blurred out (it's actually in Bursledon, Hampshire). Useful for illustrating guidance, direction, choices...
Isn't this bird feeder fabulous? Our neighbour made this himself - I said he should market the design and make a fortune! It certainly attracts the birds and is also in a position that we can benefit from watching them too :))x
This marks the start of a magical track through the forest, below the cliffs and above the scree slopes, created by animals and never used by people
Once again, a long exposure thing. Effective exposure time of 10 minutes. Shot at the harbour of Esbjerg.
Once there was a sign here that urged motorists to turn left or right. Curiously enough, the street does continue to the next block--but most people wouldn't want to go straight unless they intended to stop at the two houses and church on that block.
Despite being a mile or so along the road from the previous Mindrum post , it shows the same mileage to Wooler. A bit of a hotch-potch this with a private farm 'finger' and the B road number being shown on a more recent (?) arm.
