Bothwell Bicentenary will be on, 15 and 16 October 2022. See you there.
This bus was operated by Charlie Wise. It is a 1942 Chevrolet Sideloader.
By the way, as a Councilman for Central Highlands, first elected in 2014, I fought State government for two years to save the daily bus service from Bothwell to Hobart, to no avail.
It resulted in a Code of Conduct being filed against me for my efforts, but I defeated it -on all counts. Politics.
And, the road fatality continues to climb, 51 and counting. The rush hour traffic to and from Hobart is beyond ridiculous, for a city of that size.
Folks living rurally, must commute in their own personal vehicles, now.
Why is Tasmania's public transportation system so under-developed?
A gentle reminder about copyright and intellectual property-

This unit was one of Flood Brothers' first automated trucks, that I believe was used when the company began automated recycling collection in Carol Stream, Illinois. Eventually a pair of Heil Pythons took over that work, and this unit was sent into Flood Brothers' Chicago location where it still parks to be used on the company's Chicago Park District contract.
When Flood Brothers took over the Riverside, Illinois contract from Republic a mix of trucks from both their Carol Stream and Chicago yards were used including this Autocar WX Leach Crocodile.
Flood Brothers has experienced major growth in recent years in both residential and commercial markets. As a result their fleet has become a bit more standardized, consisting of mostly Mack/McNeilus pairings for both front load and rear load work.
Reliable Disposal, a subsidiary of Republic Services, serves customers in Southwest Michigan. This truck was seen collecting garbage in Union Pier, Michigan, where garbage collection is an open market.
Reliable's older units were painted yellow. I believe this truck was bought at, or just before, the merger with Allied Waste, when Republic was starting to consolidate their own brands. The newest trucks being run out of Reliable's yard are ACX Pythons in Republic Blue.
This Autocar WXLL McNeilus M/A was seen working a residential garbage route in Mundelein, Illinois.
Groot Industries acquired this unit in 2008 when it purchased Mundelein Jensen Disposal. It was one of at least three automated side loaders that Jensen had been running, the other two being Wittke Crocodiles. Unlike Jensen, Groot's fleet consisted primarily of residential front loaders with both traditional carry cans and Curotto Cans. Overtime, Groot introduced these to the former Mundelein Jensen service area.
By 2015, when this picture was taken, both Crocodiles had been taken out of service, leaving the M/A as Groot's only ASL.
The status of this unit is currently unknown, as it had been seen sitting at a service lot for an extended period of time in 2017.
Republic Services' hauling site in Aurora, Illinois operated multiple Browning Ferris Industries (BFI) branded vehicles into 2014, when its fleet underwent major changes as new Mack LEU Heil Freedoms went into service. As a result, most BFI trucks were either taken out of service or sent to other hauling sites in rural areas. More recently, the Aurora hauling operation was acquired by Waste Connections as part of an asset swap. As a result, the trucks currently operating out of Aurora are being rebranded in Groot Industries livery, the name Waste Connections operates under in the Chicagoland area.
Aside from the changes in ownership, residents in Aurora have also began receiving automated collection. Carts were rolled out in the city during the Summer of 2015, when Republic Services was still the service provider.
This BFI Labrie Manual Side Loader was seen working in the City's Stonebridge neighborhood.
A subsidiary of Republic Services, Able Disposal serves Indiana residents who live immediately south of Lake Michigan in communities such as Michigan City and Chesterton.
This Heil Python, mounted on an Autocar ACX, was seen collecting recyclables in La Porte County. Republic Services holds the contract for residential recycling throughout the county.
Able Disposal is, like other divisions, rebranding to the Republic Services name. Their new trucks continue to be the Autocar/Heil combination.
The City of Kokomo's Public Maintenance and Refuse Department is responsible for the collection of refuse and recyclables throughout Kokomo and utilizes a variety of trucks to handle the task. Among Leach Rear Loaders and Labrie Helping Hands, the City's Lodals stand out.
This Lodal EVO was seen collecting in the Northern part of the city that consisted primarily of alleyways. The Department of Public Maintenance and Refuse utilizes one-side collection to reduce the number of trips a truck makes down each street.
Operated by: Eureka Recycling, Minneapolis, MN
Unit Number: 12
Body: McNeilus M/A
Chassis: Mack LR

Here’s an MSL that was sent to Camp Hill, PA from Palmyra, PA. Don’t really know why it was sent over, but it hasn’t left this parking spot for a long time.
Following an extreme cold snap that caused temperatures drop to their lowest levels in 25 years, many Chicago area companies had to adjust service schedules after having cancelled pickups on both Wednesday and Thursday of that week. Groot Industries' Elgin, Illinois location cancelled pickup for its Wednesday residential customers entirely, and picked up its Thursday and Friday routes each a day late.
This Autocar ACX Heil Python is seen collecting recycling in Hanover Park on Saturday morning.
This is one of 5 Pythons currently being run by Groot Industries, a Waste Connections company, that were acquired following an asset swap with Republic Services that took place in 2017. There are multiple spots on the unit where you can see some Republic Blue bleeding through. This is the only Python mounted on an Autocar; the other Pythons are all mounted on Mack LEUs.
One of the first two Loadmaster Eclipse’s that were delivered a month or two ago, now all lettered up, and ironically already broken.
Apparently this truck has some sort of manufacturing defect and is awaiting Loadmaster engineers to come take a look at it to see how it’s gonna get fixed.
I think it’s safe to say, not a great start to Penn Waste’s Loadmaster endeavor…
