Sidecut Metropark, Maumee, Ohio.
This very large tree was pointing high in the sky and did make me think of the little people that probably had their homes high in the tree. In the summer they could come down on a starlit night to have their festivals. With winter coming they would probably cut back because of the cold. Of course, they would need to celebrate the solstice with a bonfire and dancing. Probably a little trickery, too!!
Unless I've missed my guess they are massing for the migration south. There were about 100 or more birds gathered here.
