honestly, I was hesitant about the sidecut girl, as I usually don't like blonde/pale girls, but she's by far my favorite of the bunch, she's really pretty

love the beauty marks and colored hair so much on both of them!!!!

Reflections of sunrise on a late winter morning.

March 2009, Maumee, Ohio

a day earlier, the Maumee River carried picnic tables across W. River Rd.

What happened here is the melting ice on the river jammed up and formed an Ice dam about 15 to 20 feet high at Grand Rapids. The pressure of the water building up behind it caused it to burst.

That sent a wall of water and large chunks of ice crashing down the river valley. people in close proximity said you could hear it coming. It just leveled everything in it's path. The miraculous thing was no one was hurt or killed. y the time it got to Sidecut it had leveled everything a long the riverbank. It flattend all the buildings ( except those built in the upper part of the park ) uprooted trees, and bulldozed the road. There was nothing left of the lower part of the park.

You can see from the photo I took ( and I took a few ) the damage and size of the ice blocks. People were wondering around looking at it in disbelief.

Caught me off guard as well. I had heard stories from my grand dad about the Maumee River, but those things only happened in the 19th century, not the 21st. it's a rather sobering sight to actually see the power of nature.

Part of Mariah and I's 2-year anniversary celebration consisted of venturing to Sidecut Metropark in Maumee, Ohio. Until this day I was unaware my camera had the ability to create double exposures, so I played with it endlessly.

Yesterday's sunrise. There were no clouds in the sky but the color was spectacular with a slight fog hanging above the water.

The Great Blue Heron decided that the Great Egret had the better fishing spot so he chased the egret away. There was a small portion of the river that was this beautiful gold color and the two birds happened to be in the right spot at the right time.
