This entrance is on a little side street off of Main. It could just have been a side entrance, but part of me thinks it might have been the old "Coloreds Only" entrance.
The Woolworth Building appears to have been constructed sometime in the 1930s or 40s. I'm sure it closed--along with the rest of downtown--once Danville's mall opened about two or three miles away. The building appears to be in pretty good condition after sitting abandoned for at least twenty years. Unfortunately, due to Danville's current economic woes, I don't see this place being renovated anytime soon.

It really was just a dirt road.

It's Legends Day 2014 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Living Legend--Mario Andretti--is leading a flock of vintage racers in some Parade Laps around the Brickyard.
