This photo was also taken early last week in the park of Moschen Castle in Poland.

At first, I only saw the parents of these little swans and thought I could somehow incorporate them into a composition. But when I got closer, I realized there was a whole family out and about.

Unfortunately, my original plan couldn't be implemented, as the adults were busy foraging in the reeds the whole time and constantly had their backs to me.

But once the little ones were all together, I decided to go for this close-up shot.

I love how this juvenile Wood Stork looks like he is getting help with grooming from his older sibling.

Same two trees as Sibblings shot 3 days before from the opposite direction in foggy conditions with flat light....the frost was also much heavier. I think I prefer the feel of this version. Nr Laughton Woods, Lincolnshire.

Young otters (Lutra lutra) on Mull

Three structures slowly fading in life, their weathered siding in the early sunrise testifying to years of sharing storms and sunshine. In many families, it is the strong bond of siblings that provide a bulwark against the hardest times of life.

"I hate you" I said

"I love you" he heard

Who is he? Your boyfriend? Your best friend?

No,... my fucking Brother -_-

Thanks to all who have visited, commented or faved my photos. (It would be nice if you left a comment too) It is very much appreciated. Constructive criticism welcome

Many thanks as always for your comments and faves. Always appreciated.

Finally! The siblings were together in the nest studying their surroundings while a parent kept watch from a nearby tree.

Happy Monday!

One of these young grizzlies had occupied the high ground atop a pile of deadfall in the lush Great Bear Rainforest, while the other was keen to climb up there too. Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, BC.

Juvenile female and male Bearded Tits

Stuck inside on a cold & windy day some I'm going back and looking for some archive shots that might be worth posting. Here are some fox kits from April 2019

Australasian Grebe (Tachybaptus novaehollandiae) juvenile

These two looked like they were having quite a discussion today. All five chicks are doing well, and all are diving for food although still wanting Mum n Dad to feed them as well. it is hard to get a shot of an adult diving, they just give the slightest nod of their head before they dive - the little ones don't do that, they just dive!

Also known as Jangye Ryn, the cove came by its more recent name because of the silver dollars that have been found washed up on the beach over the years. However, the wreck from which those coins is uncertain.

The ship most likely to be the ‘Dollar Wreck’ is a little-known Spanish brig, Rio Nova. The Rio Nova was a wooden sailing ship, en route from Valencia and Malaga to London carrying fruit and a large amount of coin.

The ship sank sometime in December 1802, the exact date is unclear, but the inquest into the events was reported in the Sherborne Mercury on the 17th January 1803.

After the circumstances of the tragedy, and the cargo of the ship, became common knowledge people were drawn to the beach in the hope of finding a little of the lost treasure.

A sibling is a brother or a sister; that is, any person who shares the same parents.

In most societies throughout the world, siblings usually grow up together and spend a good deal of their childhood with each other. This genetic and physical closeness may be marked by the development of strong emotional associations such as love or enmity. The sibling bond is often complicated and is influenced by factors such as parental treatment, birth order, personality, and people and experiences outside the family.

I won't hide the fact that I went to Woodlands looking for the robins but couldn't find any. Instead I got this couple of kangaroo siblings as a consolation prize.
