Williamstown, NJ. Violent weather last night. I heard a loud explosion - street went dark but then power returned and the street lights came back on. I fell asleep again and woke to no electrical power this morning. The outage was widespread around our township and we had to try 3 different diner/restaurants before we were able to find one that didn't have a long wait to be seated. I don't know how long the power was out, but it was back by around 9:30 a.m.
This absolutely tiny bottle green insect was a little shutterbug, landing on my thumb while I was shooting some oxeye daisies that caught my eye while walking home 📷

The black objects by his green math matriculation exam (bagrut) book are his tefillin, which he wears for morning prayers every day except Shabbat. The background is his Magen David Adom shirt. He loves the Harry Potter series and re-reads them constantly in English (no small achievement for a boy who has lived all his life in Israel). He's a great kid. We're very proud of him!
