The unwired portions of the sorting yard, that are between New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS/NR), and the Delhi Sadar Bazar Railway Station (DSB/NR), traverse through the outskirts of the walled city, originally known as Shahjahanabad, and fondly known as Old Delhi or Purani Dilli.
At a short distance from this yard, the Lahori Darwaza, or the western gateway of the walled city once existed, outside of which, a mosque, known as the Sirhindi Masjid, or the Sirhindi Mosque, stands tall.
Built between 1639-48 CE by Sirhindi Begum, the wife of Emperor Shah Jahan, this mosque predates the iconic Red Fort and the Jama Masjid. It is now flanked by the sorting yard at the west, while the ever-busy Sadar Bazar, with lots of hustle and bustle lies on its eastern front.
In the frame, two of the three domes of the Sirhindi Masjid are visible in the background, while a WDG-3A, once a mainline heavy hauler, now relegated to menial shuntIng jobs, stands in synchronicty with them.
Sporting a rebuilt short hood, this denizen of the nearby DLS, Tughlakabad (TKD/NR) stands in a way as if its in the midst of a solemn penance in the midst of a quiet February morning.

We've come across Azrael Goldbeard a few times now but this is the first time we've run across his identical twin Mikhail Bluebeard. Whilst Goldbeard is a time-travelling warrior poet Bluebeard has chosen to tread a completely different path as he became a time-travelling poet warrior. The difference may appear trivial but the difference in ideologies has led to more than a few family arguments over the years. For now Bluebeard lives in 2019 North London but he's already thinking of moving back to 2070's New York. Those US cats are off the leash right there...
Completed in record time at Nag's Head market in Holloway on Sunday evening. As hard as we tried to get a decent shot of Bluebeard the fluorescent light directly above was having none of it. So we had to improvise. This was shot through our Nags Head wallpaper stencil...
Cheers
