It joins the likes of Caldor, Ames, Montgomery Ward, and other fallen chains in the retail graveyard as online shopping giants continues to duke it out with brick-and-mortar retailers for consumers' dollars.

In the spring of 2018, the Bon-Ton department store chain became another casualty of the tough US retail market. This shuttered location sits at the south end of the attractive Mill Creek Mall Complex, a large shopping center with a food court, some independent stores, and plenty of benches for mall walkers.
