Captured in the wetlands as this stork gathers a twig for its nest. A quiet display of instinct and construction—shaping a home for the next generation.

She stretches her wings like she’s shaking off sleep, the little crown on her head catching the light. Standing in the shallows, she looks around as if to say, ‘Alright, world, I’m ready for today.

Starling (Sturnus Vulgaris).

Visitors to my garden. Many know the Starling as somewhat of a pest, yet mesmerising in murmurations. Up close I find them amazing with so many colours that shine in one light and almost dull like in another.

Since 1985, the Penang Bridge has stretched like a silver thread over the strait, binding island and mainland, past and present. For newcomers, it’s a breathtaking path over blue waters; for those who know it well, each crossing is a quiet return to familiar shores, where memories ride the wind.

Recently visited Oldmoor Wood, Nottinghamshire. Oldmoor Wood is a woodland in Nottinghamshire, near the village of Strelley. It covers a total area of 15.11 hectares. It is owned and managed by The Woodland Trust.

I went primarily for the beautiful Bluebells. There is a mix of Native and Spanish Bluebells.

Native Bluebells are protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.

How to tell the difference.

English Bluebells: Flowers on one side of the stem.

Spanish Bluebells: Flowers all around the stem.

He sat quietly in the shadows, as if the forest itself was holding its breath. A single beam of light brushed his face, revealing those deep, knowing eyes. For a moment, it felt like he was studying me as much as I was studying him—two beings sharing the same silence, each trying to understand the other.

Even the wildest beings have quiet, delicate moments.

He sat in the quiet arms of the tree, eyes lost in the light, as if remembering something the rest of us had long forgotten.

It’s a glimpse into the wild,

and the wild looking back at you.

The Sarawak State Old Mosque, with its iconic golden domes, stands as a symbol of Kuching’s Islamic heritage. Built in the late 1960s on the site of an older 19th-century mosque, it remains a spiritual landmark and a testament to the city’s rich cultural history.

In the hush of the morning canopy, a juvenile langur emerges — half-hidden, half-bold. Its eyes scan the world with gentle hesitation, balancing the instinct to hide with the urge to understand. It's a reminder that in the wild, every glance is a decision: to stay, to flee, or to simply watch. Here, the forest breathes, and we are fortunate to be seen.

Tucked between the dense green breath of the forest and the rhythmic whispers of the sea, a solitary red shrine stands still—weathered by salt, wind, and time.

Here, silence speaks.

The waves arrive like pilgrims, the breeze carries forgotten prayers, and the land holds its secrets in roots and stone.

A lone figure wanders the water’s edge, not lost—but searching,

for something only the shore can answer.

No rush, no noise, just warmth and stillness. Sometimes nature reminds us to just pause and breathe.

Somewhere between shadow and light,

a stray stares back —

not lost, just watching.

From my garden, Ferns to Flickr. They are steadily unfolding and now's the perfect time to get some macro shots.

Here you can see All Hallows C Of E Church, Gedling. (on an overcast March day). It dates from the 11th century, with the oldest part of the church (the entrance) dating back to 1089.

Eurasian Blue Tit, (Cyanistes Caeruleus).

Visitors to my garden.

For several years this nest box in my garden has had a mating pair of Blue Tits (Cyanistes Caeruleus). It's lovely to see them back once again. Whether it's the same pair annually is unknown. They may be offspring from previous years?

Dandelions. Very common weed that adorns urban areas, gardens, fields and just about anywhere. Whatever you think of it, its various stages of transition are magical from a photographic perspective.

Dandelions may be considered a nuisance in parts of the garden, especially in weed-free lawns but have many herbal uses and are a good early source of nectar and pollen for insects so worth tolerating where possible.

Taraxacum is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, which consists of species commonly known as Dandelions.

Amazing Grey Heron.

This Grey Heron (Ardea Cinerea) resides a few short miles away but is a frequent visitor to Arnot Hill Park and stays for hours at a time, I was reliably informed.

In this quiet moment, nature extends a silent invitation — to step closer, to pause, to listen. Trees speak not with words, but through presence, rustling leaves, and filtered light. This image captures that gentle call into stillness and calm.
