We had really beautiful weather for our Mobile Photography Workshop in the Lewis Glucksman Gallery yesterday. With so much going on in Cork this weekend with the Jazz Festival, it was great to see that people travelled as far away as Dublin, Skibereen Midleton and Macroom to come to the workshop.
The day really flew by and it was very nice to get to know new people, share my love and passion for photography, and to learn from them also.
The morning session was an overview of how to get the best from your mobile camera, a look through some of the best photography apps out there (Darkroom, 1-hour photo, Base, Enlight and so on) and then a detailed and hands-on walk through the best photography app there is - Snapseed
After lunch in the wonderful Glucksman Riverside Restaurant it was out and about to put into practice what we had been covering in the morning.
Later, back in the gallery, I gave the participants one-to-one attention as they worked on the images they created.
What I love about these workshops is that we might all be in the same surroundings when we head out to shoot, but the range of different things we notice always strikes me. In fact, I was so surprised yesterday when Lar - one of the participants - noticed something in a photo of mine I had never noticed. And this was a photo I have looked at so many times. Nothing like fresh eyes!
I have to thank Tadhg in the Glucksman who makes everything so easy on the day for us. Also, am so pleased with the support from olloclip who so kindly have put up prizes for the best photos created on the day.
I demonstrated how these wonderful lens are used in the workshop and you can see one of my own shots taken with the macro lens below.
Really looking forward to my next workshop (also sponsored by - olloclip - that means more great prizes) at the Gallery of Photography Temple Bar on November 28th (check link in comments).

Mobile Photo Awards Grand Prize
