Anything goes for 2021 - Shot from above

I sifted cornflour over this tiny star cookie cutter then moved it around a bit to make some fainter star shapes. Now off to clear up the mess. HMM

Haven't seen this view in awhile. I miss beautiful San Diego but will be moving to the desert in a month. La Quinta should provide me with some new photo ops for sure. Can't wait for a new adventure.

It's hard to believe now but 350 years ago the area now pointed at by the shadow of the shard was completely destroyed in the fire of London in 1666. Samuel Pepys said in his famous diary that the fire was over a mile across in length. St Pauls which is the domed cathedral near the top middle/left of the image, replaced the original cathedral destroyed in the fire.

I think the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens was followed by a moonshadow, but hey, we all have our own situations.

That tall shadow belongs to a short quince...no, it's not a pear. I've never eaten one before but I'm not sure you can eat them raw. I've had quince paste so maybe they always need to be cooked first.

Cromer Pier again but captured from above. Just didn't get anything else I was remotely pleased with today.

Happy Monday to Friday everyone! Sorry I have not been very active the last few weeks. I look forward to get some more time in a few days.

I just recently got a new camera. I wanted it to beat around and be able to not worry so much about the what if I break it? Wayne Gretzky said it brilliantly, "You miss 100 of the shots you don't take." Soooo now I have a reason to keep taking! :) I got a cute little Micro Four Thirds camera, the Olympus E-M5. I love it so far. I have a lot to learn but I'm having fun doing it.

Urbex session 7 : Manoir colimaçon

When I took this photo, Drake's "One Dance" kept popping into my head. It could be my favourite Drake song, but I'm not sure an official music video was ever made so no YouTube video link here...

I've been meaning to take more train track shots. I really love the symmetry and leading lines and curves - and if there's a lovely old station to go with it, all the better. These lines, catching the light of the setting sun, belong to a lovely old station in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. Hawksburn Station was originally opened in 1879, but the current station buildings were completed in 1914 (according to the all-knowing Wikipedia).

The last day of the year,

Last sunset,

Last hours…

In anticipation of a new day,

A new year,

A fresh beginning,

I sincerely wish you a New Year full of happiness and prosperity, dear friends.

It has been a tough year here, the situation still ongoing, unfortunately. I hope it ends very soon.

I would like to thank all my genuine friends for their support and understanding. I’m grateful for that.

And, a message to hopeless sinners, who have hurt all mankind just to save their own beliefs.. STOP IT !!!

Try to make some sense of your existence.

If you can’t add any good to this planet, just keep it as is. It’s already a wonderful place!!!

Feeding my pencil obsession...

#ShotFromAbove (in the garden on a step ladder)

First attempt at flat lay photography. Really fun, especially collecting compatible items and arranging them. Taken from above was a bit difficult at first, but I finally remembered to click the live view button which helped tremendously since that helped without straining my neck.

Ice Plant flowers shot from above. These always remind me of fireworks. Speaking of fireworks, we are approaching the 4th of July and fireworks sales in our area start tomorrow. I help out at our church's Royal Rangers firework stand, so I will not have much time for Flickr over the next week or so. I may post here and there, but will not have much time for commenting.
