#SHIPtember 2016 nearing it's conclusion. It's time to give the kid his room back lol. ✓ Swooshpic taken. Video soon and onwards to #Ma.Ktober. It was good fun, can't you just tell by that smile? :D
The royal yacht of the Andromeda Star Empire. Carefully crafted to provide the epitome of luxury, speed and security, with a dash of opulence.
Built for SHIPtember 2025. This is easily the biggest project I've ever undertaken at a length of 160 studs, a weight of 13.5 kg and probably upwards of 10,000 parts. Once again, thanks to everyone who contributed along the way.
She's done. A love letter to the FX Star Patroller. 103 studs. Cargo bay, twin cockpits and detachable scout ship.
Actually the cargo section isn't much bigger than the original Lego set which I find pretty hilarious. I'm happy that the rear section is smaller and sleeker, I didn't want something that looked like a ship towing a caravan.
This was hard to photograph so I'll go back and take more shots (profile pic, underside, engines, etc).
Monitor-class battlecrusier, Imperial Navy. She's not quite finished but there was hasty drydock refit and, you know, the Empire ain't what it used to be.
Third time was the charm indeed. I'm not overly satisfied with the end result but looking at the photos today it's fine. A solid B, maybe B+. not the most exciting shape but I like the punchy colours enough that it works for me. It's been a battle to STAY ON TARGET lately so I'm kinda happy and relieved that I finished something.
I thought it would be nice to take a look back at the SHIPs I've attempted since 2015. 2018 I played around with some very simple designs (and had a lot more spare time back then) so I tried to make a couple SHIPs in a very basic format. I really like how the orange and black one turned out, even if it was mostly just stacked backs on their sides. 2020 was a cargo ship that I ran out of parts for. And there were no builds for 2021 and 2024. Some years I could barely wait for August to finish so that I could start and other years I had no ideas or motivation at all.
I think the black, bug-like Hag Titan is my favourite followed closely by the Aliens salvage vessel and the 6931 tribute from 2022.
SHIPtember has been fun and challenging and so inspiring seeing all of the other incredible SHIPs people build.
Solar Sailer from TRON: Legacy.
TRON: Legacy is visually one of my favorite movies, and I've always thought it would be cool to build the Solar Sailer. SHIPtember provided the perfect opportunity! Unlike last year, when I didn't make a single BrickLink order, this year I had to order most of the pieces to build this. It was definitely a Seriously Huge Investment in Parts! Keeping with tradition, this SHIP, like both my previous SHIPs, is exactly 100 studs long (not counting the data beam).
Also a big shout-out goes to my man Pascal for doing the awesome edit.
Some stats:
-Weight: ~6 Kg
-Length: ~110 studs
-#Bricks: ???
- Days of working: ~14 days
Yes!!! Done!! I was really worried about the spaceship, because I never did nothing similiar before!!!
Thanks Simon for encourage me and It was really really fun enjoy this spaceship time.
I'd like to thank everyone who provided comments and feedback during the build process, might not have made it this far without you all.
I know, another WIP. :P With college and work, I don't have a lot of time to build, but I'll do my best to finish this. lol
Anyways, this is going to be a dropship of sorts, and it's primary colors will be orange and gray most likely. Anyways, comments and criticism would always be appreciated.
Thank you!
God bless!
Now it's starting to look like something! :D
Finished with the interior structure - Engines are next.
Hello
This is my contribution to SHIPtember
A Gunboat from the Star Citizen Universe
Total length 118 studs, wide 71 studs.
I've put a lot of value on realism with this model, and I hope you like it as much as I do.
more pictures will follow
The Elders built a machine to snatch stars from heavens.
Now the nights are long and dark. We think they succeeded.

My build for SHIPtember (126 studs long). Inspired by diving beetles and great appendage arthropods.
This SHIP comes in at exactly 100 studs. It's based on this concept art by zombat.
Also I'm proud to say that I did this without a single Cracklink order!
Big thanks to Simon and Stijn and armoredgear7 and everyone else who worked hard to make SHIPtember awesome! I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's WIPs and SHIPs, and I certainly would never have built this otherwise! Thanks guys!
She's finished, well, technically not finished as the other side is just bricks with no shaping, I'm just finished working on it :-)
Lack of motivation was a factor for me this SHIPtember; I nearly didn't build anything but I was inspired by seeing other builders begin in the first few days of the month.
My SHIP building experience was a mix of fun, frustration, bursts of inspiration, laziness and missed opportunities to put in parts or components that I wanted to. The six stud width was surprisingly restrictive, I found. There are many, many areas that need improvement but this year was all about just building it rather than getting things perfect.
Scroll through the different angle photos, the last pic is the ulgy reverse side.
I’ve had the cage sketched up since day 22(I think) I’ve been terrible at actually tracking time spent and stuff this time) anyways there’s been a few ideas on how to flank the tanks and transition into the cage and I’m really happy with this outcome. Actually turned out better than I expected.
Just got to frame the back edge of the caging, figure out what to do with the back edge of the wings and if I’ll fit raised wing tips or just leave the edge as is but sloped off like the rest of the wings.
Intakes remind me of the countache so does that mean this is a lambo?
My SHIPtember entry for 2016, started early on August 15. Initially starting out as a Star Trek-ish design, I got sidetracked by this blog and ditched the saucer section for something that seemed to evoke the Star Blazers style. Very much fun: it reminded me of building crappy Lego Yamatos when I was a kid :-) She comes in at around 106 studs approx. See notes for ship anatomy. Very simple design, no Technic frame, just forward facing studs. Roll on SHIPtember peoples! Very exciting to watch everyone's builds progressing.
Finished both sides! This one took a bit longer since I used most of my red tiles for the first WIP 1.
Onto the interior structure!
✌️
(Sorry about the bad lighting)
Almost done! Because of my lack of pieces, there will be only one ring on the back of the ship instead of two.
The "Wake me up, when" is the SQS 3rd gen Cargo SHIP. Based out of the New Hashima Space Docks, this 5 person utility hauler main route is between the Jovian moons.

I started this SHIPtember 10 days late, as I was getting last minute sorting done as I knew I'd need all the fancy colours for the cargo containers... and I didn't think I would finish, from the late start, to mini vacation I had planned I was already cutting it close. Throw in a family emergency I didn't think I could finish with 2 days left. Several cases of pop later and no sleep I'm fairly happy with what I had in the end.
I'd like to do some additional passes to clean stuff up and improve on the front section....
The SHIP was destined to dock at New Hashima at Brickworld this year, and one of multiple Cargo SHIPs expected to show up in the new Island.
Huge shoutout to @alec_d who lent me a bunch of Maersk to make this even remotely possible. As well as Pierre for inspiring me to try for Maersk and inthehert to push me to finally start building.
And thanks to everyone that replied on IG story that helped with suggestions on cargo containers. And my SHIPing mate - Mr. Drake for getting the SQS fleet going with his wonderful SHIP.

The air intake looking thingy at the bottom was the first feature added and its (very) challenging geometry led me to rebuild the frame once. Pretty much every angle on the rest of the ship flowed from that one decision.
Most of the panels fit together pretty closely despite their shoddy alignment here. I picked the bad angles to be away from most viewers but naturally, they're prevalent from this angle.
Space modules for SHIPtember 2016 ship. Working backwards. Building modules first, then some sort of 100 stud long minifigure scale transport ship for them.
I have built 4 modules:
2 multipurpose modules for scientific research, resting, etc (rear and right)
1 4-way corridor module (center)
1 airlock module with exterior holding tanks and batteries (left)
Doors, hoses, steps and such are yet to be added.
Attention!
Unidentified vessel detected.
Scanning indicates the presence of unknown biological tissues in major structural components.
Object is armed with electromagnetic weaponry.

Thanks to Marko for the help with the main picture!

I've had this SHIP in my to do list for quite a while and I'm glad I could get her out in bricks. I gave up a not-serious attempt last year and wasn't entirely sure I'd have the energy this year after BrickCon but here we are.
At time of writing, I'm super sick and didn't go back and give the photography the attention it deserved. In other words: expect some really shoddy photography and editing (like the bad base removal on the ventral side).
Hello,
Sonokrha (106studs)
My entry for shiptember 2021. It's the tenth 100 studs length ship that I've built so far.
The only idea before building was to use those shooters to create some patterns

The 'Shelburn' is a deepspace rescue and crisis response spacecraft, built for Lego Shiptember 2021. It is 105 studs long and was a lot of fun - but a bit challenging with not much time to build. One thing I'm really happy about is how sturdy it is, I defenitiely have improved on that !
My first Shiptember, complete!
The LL42 Cargo Freighter:

The LL42 Cargo Freighter is a Ruby Class starship, built for shipment but used for smuggling. Battered and broken from constant encounters with Galactic Officials, the ship is home to the famous space pirate Smee, and his custom droid P.A.U.L (Personal Android - Unpaid Labor)
Features:
-Lights
-Functioning laser cannons
-Rotating ring
-Somewhat detailed interior
-Opening cargo doors and interior space to store smuggled goods.
-Greebling
More pictures coming soon!
Built for SHIPtember 2022.
This one was a bit of a speed run, with building and photography all taking place within the span of 4 hours (including lunch!) on the last day of September.
It was an interesting experience, especially for my first SHIPtember. I'll probably actually allocate more time to it next year. That, or speedrunning SHIPtember might just become my thing. We'll see.

The SS Costellazione is the luxury queen of the Adriatic Star Cluster. Styled after vintage forms of transportation and maintained in pristine condition for decades, the Costellazione is beloved by travelers seeking classy interplanetary cruising.
This ship was inspired by a visit to the Udvar-Hazy Center, where they have a fantastic collection of seaplanes and a Lockheed Constellation. Eventually, I'd like to build out a world of Porco Rosso inspired space pirates, but when I realized I could merge the Constellation to an ocean liner hull, a SHIPtember project was born: something for the pirates to attack! Comparisons to the Space Battleship Yamato will be inevitable, but I think it's much more like the Bebop, and lands gracefully in harbors.
Built for SHIPtember 2024. ~107 studs long.

The TG-17 is a futuristic inter-atmospherical attack shuttle. Capable of speeds nearly 5,600 kilometers per hour, this ship is well-equipped to serve in both gravity and non-gravity venues.
The dual cockpit is armed with two Xeon 532-D cannons, while the fuselage is protected by twin AED (automatic electric detection) lasers, capable of firepower equivalent to that of six .50 caliber machine guns.
The craft can be loaded with an additional payload for special missions or for attack mode.

Too late for SHIPtember... I know. With this MOC, I really wanted to up my quality of building and photography as much as possible. Hopefully I accomplished something like that with this ship. Not sure what MOC will be next...
Lots of stuff has been happening in life recently. I am just grateful to come here once in a while and share some creativity with this wonderful community.
The Nomad Class SHIPs are the backbone of the Explorer fleet - Each SHIP can be docked to two others for the long term interstellar travel.
Once at the destination the SHIP can split to explore various planets or two can continue onto their next destination.

So ends my most ambitious SHIPtember efforts ... Rule 1 of Government Spending: why have one, when you can have three, at triple the cost?
I based this build on the wonderful art form Colie Wertz's Nomad Cluster SHIP (www.artstation.com/artwork/mmov) which is a tri-SHIP combo.
Special thanks to wonderful Chris for feedback and early brainstorming, and all the folks in the Space Discord and Instagram people and of course Flickr Folks!
Hello,
So here's my ship for shiptember . (112studs)
I've built the frame in 2 days , that was boring ^^ then nothing for 2weeks.....I've finally started building again , even if Ihad no idea of what this ship would look like at the end ^^ (just wanted to use stripes that's all , and grey and black)
So the result is something like Foss meeting star wars
Name :Silure 33
Lenght: 785m
Story: spaaaaaaceshiiiip!
About 2/3 underway as SHIPtember flies by.. the more I'm working on it, the more I'm realizing it should have been called the Baboon instead of the Basilisk.
Housing myriads of primitive organisms in its massive core, it sows seeds of otherworldly life across outer space.
Size: 102x102x154 studs
Someone said "pirates" so I made the bland SHIP to something a bit pirate themed.
Would have loved to have a bit more greeble on those big panels, but everytime I touched them, they fell off and are a real bugger to fix again. Usijng those small 1x2 hinge thingies wasn't the best idea I had, but I won't change it because this SHIP cost too much time and energy already.
Oh, and the swooshability which I hoped for, when I started, is zero.
Length 108 studs
Weight 1750g
Toy Project Day 3696
Well, this year's SHIPtember was quite hard for me due to lack of time and ideas. Almost 3/4 of work was done last week or something like that. So I couldn't make everything I want and ship is a bit crude and unpolished.
One of standart type drone carriers, designed to assist in construction of orbital port hubs. Ship isn't supposed to have much materials onboard, so she depends on cargo haulers during construction.

SHIPtember is harsh. Work and plumbing problems really conspired against me this month. I tried to crank it out but ultimately couldn't find a good path forward that I was happy with. This is the current unsatisfactory state of the WIP. It's fat, heavy, and the proportions are weird. I'll probably continue to work on it at a more leisurely pace over the winter. Perhaps I'll come up with something I'm satisfied with before Bricks Cascade in Portland next March. All feedback and suggestions are welcome. Come on all you space dorks, chime in with your critiques!
Needless to say I won't be bringing this to BrickCon. I'll bring the Dalu instead. She's a fine looking ship, relatively easy to transport, and it's never been displayed at BrickCon.
Congratulations to all SHIPtember participants!
