Shining down - Shafts of light shining down and spilling through a gap in the clouds perfectly silhouetting a straight row of trees at the foot of Pendle Hill on an otherwise overcast morning. Ribble Valley, Lancashire
This was fun to see the Andromeda, a shooting star at the bottom right next to the Tufa, and the carpet of crystal stars shiningdown on Tufas with the air glow on my computer screen :) I don't know what it is about Mono Lake this weekend, but the colors naturally are so vivid that I have to de-saturate them in lightroom...I don't know if it is the moisture or what. The air glow phenomenon was strong this weekend despite the fires in Mammoth which caused severely dry air and haze. Can't wait to go back! :)

Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm
I know it's been coming for some time
When it's over so they say
It'll rain on a sunny day
I know shinning down like water
I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day~~~~~~Creedence
My photography teacher once said that you should always take pictures when there's a God light becacue they're SO COOL!
:D
For my friend Kim. Giving her hope that her father's memory is alive and well as she remembers him today on the anniversary of his death. Her father's love for her would be shining, because she's a wonderful friend and person. He knew that and somewhere in the heavens still knows this. This is what I believe and what she should as well.
Be at peace Kim.
William from the visitor center took us( Adri, Luca and me) through Fort Totten giving us the history, and pointing out all the cool stuff. Like a birds nest complete with family in the stairwell on our way up to the top of the fort....
He said there was guy who did tours and could tell us more, but I think he did a great job!
I was taking a picture of the structure of the fort, and when I looked to see where they went I loved how the light was shining through his hair.
Adri...thank you! It was great fun!!
