The power, ingenuity, and sheer beauty found in nature has always fascinated mankind. When we look at powerful ocean waves rolling in, we cannot help but feel small and powerless in comparison. Mighty trees in a vast forest inspire feelings of insignificance and awe. Animal mothers taking care of their young make us question the cruelty with which we sometimes treat one another. The truth is, nature can teach us many valuable lessons. It can also lead us to wonder, did this beautiful earth with all of its natural treasures come about by chance or was it created?

A bright flower in full splendor,
shines like a jewel in the sun's light.
Its brilliance is so bright that one hardly looks at it,
without being caught by its glow.
Her colors are so rich and so clear,
in a sea of green she seems to float.
Her fragrance, as sweet as a magic spell,
makes our heart tremble with joy.
The blossom, it opens wide,
and shows us its beauty, so delicate and fine.
It almost seems to whisper, "I am ready,
"I am ready to show myself to the world in all my splendor and purity."
A luminous flower in full splendor,
a gift of nature, so beautifully made.
It reminds us that beauty exists,
and that in everything that grows and blooms, life vibrates with life.

I wanna listen, but I can't sit still
Just quiet and calm, but I guess I never will
I could go, but I won't
Too many rules to tie a man down
Don't know what to do, it just wears me out
I could break, but I won't
The stars on my arm remind me of you
Why did they have to? Why did they leave so soon?
I could cry, but I won't
Sometimes you're better off without me
Sometimes you're better off alone
I wanna run, but I can hardly breathe
My head is full with thoughts that I don't need
I wish I'd let them all go
So much to do, but I'm on my way
So many songs to sing, so many things to say
So many reasons to know
Sometimes you're better off without me
Sometimes you're better off alone
I want you to stay here with me
'Cause tomorrow maybe you'll be gone
Maybe you'll be gone

#Lookingclose...onFriday! #Damaged
Pretty nice theme for this week. We do have so much things that get broken sooner or later. Damage also happens in Nature.
Damage is any change in a thing, often a physical object, that degrades it away from its initial state. It can broadly be defined as "changes introduced into a system that adversely affect its current or future performance". Damage "does not necessarily imply total loss of system functionality, but rather that the system is no longer operating in its optimal manner". Damage to physical objects is "the progressive physical process by which they break", and includes mechanical stress that weakens a structure, even if this is not visible.

Been once more outdoors for some shooting. While i rested on an parkbench i created this scenery. The contrast between the bench and the flowers made them almost pop out.
Even Color does not exist, but is created in our brains. In order to see color we need light, an object and our eyes. Color arises in the presence of light. Whenever light falls on an object, some of the rays are reflected by the object and the remainder is absorbed. The part that is reflected, determines the color.
Our eyes cannot perceive the light that is absorbed by an object. An apple, for example, absorbs all colors, except green. Because the green is reflected and is captured by our eyes, we see the green color of the apple.
The most ideal light for seeing color is diffuse daylight, when the sun is more or less behind the clouds and it is slightly rainy. This produces the most truthful colors.

Don't tell me my summer is gone
I feel like the cold had just left
Why do I lose all this time
Counting and counting the things I'll never do
Don't tell my summer is done
I've only just thought about opening the blinds
This year was supposed to be the one
What happened to my time
I'll sink in my throne
Choke on my words
Slave on these songs
Never to be heard
I'll be the one
With the sad tale
Beautiful start
Promise and fail
Don't tell me my summer is done
I feel like the cold had just left
Why do I lose all this time
Counting and counting the things I'll never do
Don't tell my summer is gone
I've only just thought about opening the blinds

Sunlight filled the scenery after a warm summer rain. The smell of summertime fullfilled the air at this day. Memories of my childhood flashed through my mind. A wonderful moment to reminisce about days gone by.

"She, she, she, she Shine On
Shine On
Shine On

The sky is purple and things are right every day

But I won't fight, and I won't hate
Well not today..."

All Saints' Day (Latin Sollemnitas Omnium Sanctorum) is a Christian feast commemorating all the saints, the "glorified members of the Church who have already reached perfection," both known and unknown. The feast is celebrated in the Western Church on November 1, and in the Orthodox Churches on the first Sunday after Pentecost.
Many people visit the graves of their relatives on this day and the following All Souls' Day. All Souls' Day in the Catholic Church is the day of remembrance for all the deceased. It is a widespread custom to decorate the graves with lights on these days.
On the eve, October 31, in the United States and many countries of Europe folk customs are celebrated Halloween. The word Halloween is derived from the English term All Hallows Eve, the liturgical eve of All Saints' Day. In its current form, which has come back from North America, it has taken on a highly commercialized and secularized form.
So today my minds are with my father! He past away almost 3 years ago.
You past away but my memories still are here. And a person is just gone if we do not think about him anymore. Soon, the 14th of November is your Birthday and i keep our lifetime moments in my heart!
Today marks the anniversary of the day when nothing was the same anymore. From one second to the next, my world was torn apart. Since then, nothing is as it was and I'm just coming home from the cemetery. You fought for your life for a few weeks back then - but in the end the other side won! Weeks full of hope and fear were in vain. But time passes and yet life must go on without you. Today I miss you so much. All the memories come flooding back. Very emotional. And whenever I can't find words anymore I try to express myself with pictures. There would be so many things to tell. But it was no longer granted to us. You will always be in my heart - my beloved dad!
Tracks in the sand
One night I had a dream:
I was walking along the sea with my master.
Against the dark night sky
shone, like streaks of light,
images from my life.
And each time I saw two footprints in the sand,
my own and my master's.
When the last image passed my eyes
I looked back.
I was startled to discover
that in many places of my life's journey
there was only a trace to be seen.
And those were the hardest times of my life.
Concerned, I asked the Lord:
"Lord, when I began to follow you,
you promised me
to be with me in all my ways.
But now I discover
that in the hardest times of my life
there is only a trace in the sand.
Why did you leave me alone
when I needed you most?"
Then he answered, "My dear child,
I love you and will never leave you alone,
especially in times of need and difficulty.
There, where you have seen only a trace
you have seen,
I have carried you."

SHINE ON
I hope you guys are doing good? I’m kinda cautious voicing that things are going back to normal and the city looks like it’s calming down. We walked everywhere last night from Lincoln Park to downtown and it was pretty quiet. In anticipation of a good sunset we decided to stop by the river and grab couple of shots with some bridges being still up. What do you think?
True creatures of the light are never afraid to stand within its blaze.

Even playing about making a montage seemed difficult..and energy consuming so I didn't attempt much at all. Both photos taken a few years ago. Trees taking with an iphone and the moon using a Canon Powershot snappy camera. The original moon shot did appear that big just higher in the sky - some of those small Canon cameras have a super zoom but hand held a total nightmare to hold still. (Those who have used one will know what I mean honest ) so i remember being quite chuffed at the time :)

Editing some of my old photos brings back that brief moment in time as a memory and a time long gone. I distinctly remember taking this one, and it feels like a long time ago now.

Ponce de Leon claimed Florida for Spain in 1513. (Christopher Columbus discovered North America in 1492 but actually landed in the Bahamas). Other Spanish explorers later found gold and silver in Mexico and Peru. The treasure was sent back to Spain in ships sailing in the Gulf Stream. Spanish settlements needed to be built in Florida to protect the Spanish Treasure fleets. I sometimes wonder when I am standing on the side of the road with my lens pointing far away at something, what people are thinking as they drive by. Probably saying things like "I can't tell what he is looking at" trying to figure it out. On this day it was a mostly quiet back road on a quiet morning that I had to myself. Until all of the sudden, I hear a loud noise and it's about 20 to 30 road cyclists flying in out of what feels like nowhere. They were on a mission moving way faster than I do my road bike with hardly glancing over at me. And then just like it was quiet again.

The sky was starting to 'lighten-up' and I thought I just might get to see something pretty (right there) through that 'open-window.' Was hoping this wouldn't be a wasted effort on the 'one-morning' I would be here on this beautiful northern beach this year. Shine-on through!

Shine On...Humble Pie
Find it hard to see you in the dark
I looked around
You were beside me
Don't you realize it's hard to dream
Without your helping hand to guide me
This could be the one, girl
If you will be my sun
Shine on
Me, shine on me
Let it shine on
Shine on
All I have to so is let it shine on
Please look about and tell me what you see
All noise and dirt and plastic people
Cause love is clean
And ours has been a bluer shade of jade
Than black or white is
Take me on a ride, girl
Right there by my side, Oh
Shine on
Shine on me, shine on you
Let it shine on
Shine on
All I have to do is let it shine on
Shine on
Shine on me, shine on you
Let it shine on
Shine on
All I have to do is let it shine on

SUNRISE - seagull - End of Series
Saint Augustine, Florida U.S.A.
All done with my long-beach-series from the most-beautiful beach-scene location (IMHO) in Saint Augustine, Florida, at the ocean-inlet jetty on historic Vilano Beach. An immaculate, very pristine beach.
I really liked the subtle-changes at sunrise of the sky, ocean, jetty, waves, and slight-sand-reflections. Sometimes the birds joined-in
to complete the setting. It was so much fun. Thanks for Looking.
