Bulls Island, off the South Carolina coast is part of the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. A beautiful, and largely unspoiled spot You have to take a boat to get there. And it leaves VERY early. But to get a chance to get some sunrise shots at one of the premier boneyard beaches, it was worth it.

The Outer Banks of North Carolina are a wonderful treasure. Beautiful sunrises on the Atlantic Ocean side, and wonderful sunsets on the Sound side. This was shot near Duck on the Currituck Sound as the day was ending.

On the first evening of our camping trip, my friends and I ventured to Clingman's Dome to catch sunset. While the sunset itself wasn't spectacular, it wasn't bad either. ;-) I grew up not that far from here. These mountains have been home to my family for about 250 years. It's always good to get back and reconnect.

I'm beginning to crave a trip to the beach again. So, what do I do? I go back and take a look at images from previous trips. Sometimes I find some images that catch my eye now, in a different way than when I reviewed the images just after I shot them. This is one of those images. It was a wonderful morning from earlier this year taken after one of my crazy 'drive to the beach for sunrise' trips to meet up with a couple of photographer friends.

A new location for me that I shot as part of a workshop I took this past weekend. The cypress trees in Lake Moulrie, SC peacefully await sunset and the quiet of the night.

Drove from Portland to Cape Disappointment to catch sunrise last weekend. Well, not quite sunrise. I knew that there would be clouds, so there wouldn't be a colorful sunrise, so that was the excuse I used to sleep in a little more. ;-)
But the cloudy, moody morning was perfect for a black and white rendering.

The majestic Manhattan Bridge is silhouette by the setting evening sun. The skyline of lower Manhattan is silhouette as well. The new Freedom Tower can be seen just to the left of the bridge. Prints of this image can be found at fineartamerica.com/featured/silhouette-of-the-manhattan-b...
