Icebergs form when chunks of ice calve, or break off, from glaciers, ice shelves, or a larger iceberg. Icebergs travel with ocean currents, sometimes smashing up against the shore or getting caught in shallow waters ( credit NSIDC). We sailed into Paradise Bay it was very dark with mist. Then there was a break in the clouds over the mountain slope. This photo was taken in the mid afternoon. The seas were still but visibility was poor. The Antarctic Peninsula is the northernmost part of the mainland of Antarctica, located at the base of the Southern Hemisphere. Antarctica is a continent, bigger than Europe, North America or Australia,
Another look at my favorite little ghost town and what used to be the "General Store". The shelves may indeed be empty, but I'm sure there are many memories within...and maybe a few ghosts....
Cookery books for Plant strong eating - I think I went over the top!! It's such a fascinating way of eating - who would possibly have thought that we have not had meat for over a year? And not missed it!!
Our book shelves are really full..... This macro shows, continually pulling them out by the spine is not a good thing.... But shows they are well used...
Thank you for taking the time to visit, comment, fave or invite. I really appreciate them all.

Colder temperatures and strong winds have made a significant impact along the western shore of Lake Michigan. These ice shelves are here to stay for a while.
Jerry is almost finished with shelves that display some of my favorite toys. The wood for the facing and drawer fronts came from a cherry tree we had milled in our front yard. The sides of the drawers, yellow popular, are from a tree that grew on Albany Rd. also milled in our front yard. The bottoms of the drawers are made of cedar from a farm tree in Corydon, Ind.
Manolo finally finished installing the beautiful shelves he designed for the living room's concrete wall. I love the combination of concrete, wood and stainless steel. I can't believe we've been living here for a whole year already, it seems like we moved in yesterday.
Awesome morning at Lake Michigan. Arrived about 5:30 a.m. still pitch black, finished a cup of coffee and slid on a pair of rubber boot spikes waiting for the first sign of light. Fifteen minutes later I grabbed my kit and tripod and headed down to the lake. The lake seems much lower than the last few years and the ice shelves smaller. This was the first shot of the morning. To get the full sky I had to include the steel water breaker. I have a few more different compositions to look over and possibly post. Love my Sony a7r but hate how fast the batteries drain, especially in the cold. I even had the spare battery in my pocket with the hand warmer but both died quickly.
Strongylocentrotus purpuratus, Purple Sea Urchin. Top shelf at upper left was out of water and the next two (descending to lower right) were in a tidepool along with at least two kinds of coralline algae at a near zero tide.

My dolly shelves. If you look closely, you will be able to see some of my dolly obsessions! Certain clothing designers have a way of multiplying in my household.
Middle shelf are all customs by scoladolls and bottom left 6 dolls are by chantilly lace. :0)
You will also see multiple outfits by minnalove<3 and plasticfashion<3, and multiple hats by eurotrash<3 and littleditzies<3
I have 3 big shelves, and 1 more in a thrift store hasnt buy yet( no room for it). I love colorful pine or oak shelves, fill them with books, trinkets, fabrics.

Please do not be fooled into thinking I 'staged' the bookcase for this shot, I did not. It is always a mess and books just pile up. (Okay, I admit to some slight staging)
I should honestly make the time to go through the shelves, donate some books and make some room for new books... but let's be honest I probably won't. I'll just keep adding to the shelves and hope they don't collapse upon themselves...
Hope everyone has had a good day.

I have a confession - I have been ignoring the blythes since I moved. not intentionally - but with working longer hours to pay my rent and generally not feeling like taking pictures, it just happened.
Anyway, I re-arranged the blythe shelf to bring more of them down to eye level. the majority of the house is in shambles but I am finally working on the shop below the beauty parlor. It will be mr cheeks's first business venture!
A photo of the sculpted busts of Robbie Burns and Lord Byron taken through the reflection on a glass door of the book shelves in the Yarmouth Library.
