I was in Florida briefly over the weekend -- not too many photo opportunities (time constraints), but I did manage to wander down an isolated beach.
These shells were tiny -- the sand grains give a sense of scale -- and each one was perfectly formed.

This location opened in fall 2000, replacing an older 1960s-built Shell/Miller Mart #66 that sat on the same site (known as "Bayberry Shell").
Seen this hidden Gem, from Chris barkers collection, 2 Isobal M Starts tucked far away from the Shell Garage, never seen anything like this before, especially being so far away from the station itself, not advertised well
10" 2 layer round and 6" 2 layer square Chocolate Lovers cake with chocolate filling and poured fudge frosting
Blue buttercream waves on top with fondant dolphins and various sized chocolate shells around sides of cake attached with royal icing. The clam and four shells on top are hand sculpted out of fondant. The coral is hand piped out of royal icing, there is luster dust on the fondant pieces.

We're traveling back to the past for the first photo of this week's set! In this street view (courtesy Google) from April 2013, all appears perfectly normal here at the Shell Rapid Lube adjacent to the gas station of the same name but accessible through a different station's (currently unoccupied, and de-gas-station-ized) parking lot. But something strange would soon transpire...

Aronson Island, Escanaba, MI. Those ladybugs were moving around. I don't know what kind of shells--are these zebra mussels?
Pricey gasoline and diesel at this new Shell station in Regina. Good thing the station's not open yet! It does make me wonder why they didn't enter 888.8 in to test the complete LED display.
I had an idea for a background for this one involving ice planets and the hollowed out shells of giant creatures used as the exoskeleton and armor for rocket powered mecha that skate along the ice, but nothing in the way of cool names has popped into my head.
Bracelet made by local coastal dweller of (Papua) New Guinea. Acquired by Andrew Goldie, a Scottish explorer of (Papua) New Guinea between 1830-1880. Brought home to Millport. Given to Museums of the Cumbraes 1970.
The bracelet is made from a local mollusc shell. It has been carved and smoothed in order to wear on the wrist. Slightly chipped to overlap. It is mainly cream in colour and with brown speckled patterns at the overlap. The patterns are natural.
Bought from unknown local coastal dweller. The inhabitants at this time were still relying on bone, wood and stone tools and consequently had a productive agricultural system. They traded along the coast when Europeans first arrived with shell ornaments and foodstuffs. Little was known of the inhabitants until the late 19th century. Consequently little is still unknown about Andrew Goldie, but that the main Goldie River is named after him.

I found these shoes for under $10. I tucked them away, and rediscovered them again rooting through my pile of.... The leather sole is sumptuous, but I'm unsure if the straps will hold up to city streets. It's funny how my nails are painted the same color as the shell. I recently noticed my pseudo-Fred Flintstone toes, on my left foot, do a weird grip/curl thing. I'm not sure if I like that....
