Macro shot of my beloved Ordnance Survey maps on my shelf at home. I love maps and the unexplored worlds they open up both in the imagination and in reality through exploration.
hey everyone, been busy past few days trying to get some good storm pics. been doing a bit of storm chasing tonight too. this one is from the 27th of January, taken about an hour before my previous upload of the lightning. watching the shelf cloud move in.

Milu is trying to blend in with the ornaments as it's time for her medicine. She normally hides under the bed or table. She has got her appetite back and is looking better. Milu is very fussy with her food and only eats the most expensive food.
This is the other shot i got from the storms the other day. This shot i had to take in about 30seconds... setting tripod and getting settings then getting the pano. The reason being is it was pelting down with rain! my gear and i were getting drenched and the lens was wet so was a very hard shot to get. pleased i got it though!
16/52 (Shelfie)
Tough theme, though. And I cheated a little: it´s the desk from my better half (shot from mine)... yeah, she needs a study!

One end of a shelf cloud, that seemed to form rather quickly, April 4th 2015 just on sunset. This was the closest, relatively open area, at the Howard Springs waste disposal point. The white leading edge at the top of the cloud? it's in every shot.

I did make it down to Alma Nebraska, and that was the farthest south I would go that evening. I had time, but I set up the camera equipment to do a nice time-lapse of these incredible mammatus clouds on the back side of this supercell. (This will be on my End of Year Vid...)
You can see the shelf cloud out in front of this beast. It was so defined it could be seen from over 60+ miles away. I knew I would get another chance at a late night shelfie this year... the mammatus @ sunset were even harder... So I deiced to stick around..
Glad I did...

15 april 2016 - Week 16
Theme: A Shelfie (not a selfie).
27th January 2021:
Stuck at home and it's raining again. We have had 2 days of some sunshine, but on both of them I decided to stay in and do other things.
So today I took a photo of part of my new toy that I bought at Christmas. All I need to do now is find something to make in it. But, I'm sure that will come eventually.
Today is : National Chocolate Cake Day - nationaldaycalendar.com/national-chocolate-cake-day-janua...
Maybe I can make parts of one using my new toy.
It is Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Today's Silly News is : Library Shelfie Day - nationaldaycalendar.com/library-shelfie-day-january-29/
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.
Strong storms brought a wicked shelf cloud into Chicago Wednesday AM. Here's the view form the 18th Street Bridge - and my car.

the theme this week is "shelfie" - a picture of your shelves.
Well, these aren't my shelves, but they are at the Lied Library at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Having spent four years here to get my diploma, I feel that I've contributed enough to have a stake in this library, I've probably even paid for several books - so there you have it..
