I'm working on making our bed more colorful. I've got a ways to go, but I did score a king size vintage flat sheet yesterday and some beautiful vintage pillowcases!
The Guardian used a picture that I took of a competitor pushing his vehicle off the platform during the Worthing International Birdman event on their image blog website.

sheetal gupta dunar A University of Nebraska-Lincoln fraternity under investigation for comments its members are accused of making during the Women's March on Lincoln last month was placed on interim suspension on Tuesday.
An investigation into the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, also known as FIJI, "indicates a pattern of behavior within the fraternity in violation of the university's Student Code of Conduct," the university said.
The violations include "reckless alcohol use" by fraternity members.
"While behavior outside the fraternity during the Women's March attracted public attention, our investigation has shown broader conduct issues at the fraternity," said Juan Franco, UNL vice chancellor for student affairs. "This conduct required our immediate action, even while our investigation continues."
The interim suspension means the fraternity will no longer be recognized as a Greek organization by UNL, and Phi Gamma Delta's affiliation with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life has been temporarily revoked.
sheetal gupta dunar In typical suspensions, freshmen members are no longer allowed to live in the fraternity house because it is not recognized as approved university housing. As of now, freshmen can continue living in Phi Gamma Delta, UNL spokesman Steve Smith said.
Why am I taking a picture of this? Because I read in the Washington Post, regarding the Messy Houses show, about people who hang on to closetfuls of nostalgic items, and as a consequence of that article I'm about to donate this sheet blanket to the Salvation Army and I still want to remember it. (Sheet blanket = flannel sheet?)

Close-up of a sheet of nori (a type of seaweed) used for food and for toppings on food, much enjoyed by Naomi. (I like it too, but not to the same extent as Naomi.)
I had to take a trip to the local Lowes to pick up some plants and sprinkler parts.
I also needed a few more scavenger hunt item. Sheets was one of them.
I didn't want to do Bed Sheets. Too easy so I figured these would work.

A man standing on the ice sheet of the Russell Glacier 25km outside Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Greenlands ice sheet covers about 80 percent of the landmass, or nearly 14 times the size of England. Latest scientist reports confirm that the Greenland ice sheet is loosing mass at an accelerating rate. This mass loss is equally distributed between increased iceberg production, driven by acceleration of Greenland's fast-flowing outlet glaciers, and increased meltwater production at the ice sheet surface. The small sheet doors are similar to the small sheet side walls, but have 49" tall verticals, and 15.875" (15 7/8") wide horizontals. The panels are all 15.875" wide as well, and like the small sheet side wall panels, the bottoms are 20" tall, the tops 18.5" tall, and all panels are flush with the inside edges, which creates a recessed panel look. I am considering rabbeting the back edges of the 2x4s and cutting the panels oversized to fit in those rabbets which would give me a tight seal against bugs, and I think would create a better, stronger frame. Another option is to slide the rabbets forward, creating instead grooves, and seat the plywood in those, building a sort of faux raised-panel door effect. This part of the design is in flux.
Honestly, the design here needs quite a bit more work. The door "frames" can't have anything sticking in from the edges, else it becomes difficult to push sheets of lumber in, and more difficult to retrieve them, but I do want the doors to stop flush when they close. I'm considering a few options that would have the doors overlap the frames in some way. These ideas include rabbeting the frames, rabbeting the back edges of the doors, rabbeting both so they interlock, meeting each other halfway, or adding something to the design as a kind of face frame that would overlap both, but attach to the face of the doors. All TBD, especially as I need to figure out latches, locks, pulls, hinges, and weather stripping, too. I want air-tight, bug-tight seals if at all possible.
