My friends JJ & Shawna are in town for a visit. They wanted some pictures of the two of them to give to their folks for Christmas. Of course, this is one of the shots that didn't make the cut. Parents don't necessarily want photos of their children looking so serious and thoughtful, but in my opinion, this is the most interesting photograph of the bunch.
Shawna McClain, 29, from Broomfield, Colorado runs the last mile to the finish line during the 2012 Chevron Houston Marathon. She finished with a tome of 2:47:39 which put her in 9th place amoung the women runners and 86th overall.

Taken during my photography class at Berkeley City College. Despite being taken with my own camera and available light, long after my turn with the full frame camera and the off-camera strobes with soft boxes, this was my favorite shot of the session.
I clearly have much to learn about using the higher end equipment, but I'm happy with this one nevertheless.

The model gave us five 5-minute poses and we were to draw them on the same page.
So on one of our trips out to Arizona we were contacted by some friends of friends about how they wanted to get some engagement photos done. So after talking with them they informed us that they would be interested in doing something fun and unique for their pictures. So we packed up the truck and headed to an old mining town up in the mountains near Sedona. Jerome was the place and it was full of all sorts of cool stuff to photograph. So as you can see we had a blast with it. They were a great couple and so much fun to work with.
