I was taking some pictures in the backyard this afternoon and this hawk flew by me and landed on the fence about 10 feet away from me.
I'm not sure but I think it's a juvenile Sharp Shinned Hawk.

Generally every winter I get a Coopers Hawk patrolling the yard. This winter it appears it is a Sharp-shinned hawk's territory.
Someone has to keep an eye on the perimeter, the woods are filled with bears, coyotes and worst of all - photographers.
