The Deh Cho Bridge is a 1.1 km long bridge across a 1.6 km span of the Mackenzie River on the Yellowknife Highway near Fort Providence, Northwest Territories. The bridge officially opened to traffic on November 30, 2012. The bridge replaced the MV Merv Hardie, the ferry in operation at the time of opening, and ice bridge combination used for river crossing.

With the current pandemic still lingering and putting many things on pause, I have found myself photographing in local conservation areas and local parks. As much as I love to travel and photograph wildlife and natural spaces all around the world, it's amazing what gems you can find in your own backyard!

During a recent photography outing, I was able to capture beautiful images of many birds, including this stunning red male cardinal. Winter is the perfect season to photograph birds and wildlife with the clearing of much of the foliage.

Had an amazing birding tour of Pakowki Lake and Milk River areas with friend and naturalist Jerry Herzig

Jerry has a wealth of knowledge on wildlife habitat and behavior.

Thoroughly enjoyed his company and hospitality.

A beautiful day with an explosive evening in the fun city of White Rock, British Columbia. Loads of people flocked to the "City by the Sea" to enjoy this annual celebration. Spectators lined the shores of Semiahmoo Bay and Canada's longest pier to watch the dazzling display of fireworks.

Looking west over the bay, over the White Rock Pier, over West Beach to the beautiful neighbourhood of Ocean Park. To the left of me, the Canada/United States International Border which splits the bay.

For safety reasons, no one was allowed between me and the pier as the pyrotechnics were launching from the shore by the white rock.

Ground squirrel stands watch over its burrow and warns nearby squirrels of any dangers

Welcoming the First Rays of Morning Sun.

What an amazing start to 2023! A sign of good luck? To spot any type of wildlife is always a great experience… but to see a silver fox up close is definitely on another level for a wildlife photographer…

Everyday is a reminder of how precious the natural world and the species that inhabit it are… Let’s hope governments, organizations, companies, and people all around the world will continue making efforts to protect more and more wildlife habitats to help protect countless species that are endangered or are facing extinction!

T dot as is Tamworth, not Toronto!

I had a crazy it’s for a sunrise shot, so I snuck out to this little spot in the middle of nowhere early morning.

It's amazing to watch and witness a woodpecker going about its business as they jump from tree to tree.

This particular female downey woodpecker stopped for a long enough moment for me to be able to capture this shot of her before going back to her persistent pecking of the tree limb

A poignant shot of a mink who appeared to briefly pose for the camera before disappearing into the pond below.

Winter is a great time to spot and photograph birds and wildlife such as this male nuthatch.

With much of the foliage gone, birds such as the nuthatch are much more visible and help to create beautiful portraits.

A mother grizzly bear and her cubs (the second one is behind the mom by the tree trunk) explore the lush landscape against the backdrop of a turquoise lake, symbolising both the majesty and tenderness of the wilderness.

You don't always have to have the Milky Way in a night-scape. The rest of the stars shine too!

As winter is starting to wind down I realized haven’t put the drone up much to get snowscapes. So with today’s bright calm skies, I found this fun little winding creek.

The magical "Muntjac" ship from the hit TV series "The Magicians" anchored in the Indian Arm just inside of Deep Cove. For the show, this sailboat has a figurehead of a Muntjac skeleton mounted to the bow. Reflecting Times on Gastown Nights !!!

I wanted to try something a little different than a usual post and I thought this was a good first attempt at "different". Halifax waterfront, Nova Scotia

Walterdale Bridge, Edmonton, Alberta - Canada

Last night's Geomagnetic Storm lit up the sky over Howe Sound and Squamish. It's been forever since I last photographed the Aurora Borealis so I played it safe and drove away from the city for the sure shot. The stars had finally aligned with the solar forecast and our local weather forecast. Southbound traffic was constant on the Sea to Sky Highway as I made my way north to Porteau Cove Marine Park. I arrived just after 9:30pm and it looked like I had missed the show. The light was fading away. After an hour or so, it gradually built back up and then BOOM as if someone flicked on the light switch. Photographers and spectators started clapping and cheering. That was a first. I caught this shot at the peak. Captured at Porteau Cove Provincial Park, Squamish-Lillooet D, 45 mins north of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ October 11, 2021 πŸ’š
