These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.
We arrived in late morning in Bath by train from London. Spent one night there and most of the next day.
Bath Abbey is a parish church of the Church of England and former Benedictine monastery in Bath, Somerset, England. Founded in the 7th century, it was reorganised in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries; major restoration work was carried out by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s. It is one of the largest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in the West Country. The medieval abbey church served as a sometime cathedral of a bishop. After long contention between churchmen in Bath and Wells the seat of the Diocese of Bath and Wells was later consolidated at Wells Cathedral. The Benedictine community was dissolved in 1539 during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

So far, we've been in New Mexico for three days and I've not taken any of the usual photographs that you might expect.
We've been enjoying friends and making new friends. Visiting Labor Day weekend festivals and seeing the city. We've also ingested our good share of great New Mexican chilies, as prepared in many ways. The cuisine is outstanding around here.
I intend to go hiking for the first time this trip tomorrow.
Today, at a local winery fest, this was my favorite photo. I looked up at the end of our stay, and saw these magnificent cumulonimbus clouds, blocking the sun, which brought out those sharply defined rays, known as crepuscular rays. I had a telephoto lens on, so you get just part of the show that the clouds and sun put on. You get the idea.

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!

This image of a throw blanket in my home demonstrates the element of shape through the use of geometric shapes as well implied shapes.
Another shot from my recent visit to the motor city. In the background is the GM Renaissance Center - world HQ of General Motors.
In the foreground is the deck of a Canadian Coast Guard ship. I believe the red objects lying on the ship's deck are buoys.
I like the variety of shapes in the shot and the way the buoys lying vertically 'play off' the tubular shape of the Renaissance Center towers.
