I thought about titling this "My Family Doctor"! LOL!
This was another sculpture from the sculpture park in Loveland Colorado. It was impressive and larger than life. The details in this large bronze were incredible!
With all respect to the artist, I couldn't resist playing with it in PS.

Experimenting with fire. To me, the flame looks like a shaman trying to summon some kind of monster. Let your imagination run wild.
Taken at my "home studio".
Mongolia 2010 on the shores of Khovsgol Lake, protected by government, administered by family of the local shaman. The shaman's son was our guide.

In this sculptural interpretation of Inuvialuit oral tradition, Piqtoukun highlights concepts of spiritual flight of creativity. Referring to shamans who flew to the moon, this piece depicts a female figure who was not born or initiated as a shaman, yet arduously trained and persisted until able to achieve cosmic flight. The artist reminds us that anything is possible, and expresses the sense of euphoria one gets from achieving a rare accomplishment.
very special and much thanks to lili (outer right, air), Muffin (inner right, fire) and Jill (inner left, earth) to posing with me (outer left, water) for this special pic... hope you all like it and enjoy the result =)

Because I wasn't too happy with the way the pic was turning out. I toyed with filters and decided to make it artistic interpretation instead. Gave it an ethereal look. Guess it's partly the mood I am in.

A crab shaman, dressed in seaweed skirt and coral headdress, the carrier of talismans of the sea. He spends his days wandering the beaches, collecting stray objects and flotsam.

One believes that the shaman, during a session, embarks on journeys - even if he "seemingly" remains in one place - to track down the spirits causing the recognized ailment. With the help of his protective spirit, the shaman must attempt to persuade the hostile spirits to give up their behavior - whether through kindness (e.g., offerings) or through hostility (e.g., initiating a battle). In his ventures, the shaman often has to transform into various animals - birds to fly, predators to fight, and so on.

When I was a kid my parents often took me to the lake Baikal.
In one of these trips I saw the Buryat shaman. He wandered along the lake shore, collecting pebbles and staring at the sky. As if he were waiting for something. Windy weather and turbulent waters of lake Baikal made the events more dramatic.
The shaman permanently etched in my memory.
Now, as an adult I returned to those memories and decided to make this doll.
