Random Fact #1 - If I Don't Know The Words to Songs, I Will Just MEOW

When I was a TA at NYU, I remember hanging out with Michelle** as she introduced me to a band. (Rilo Kiley?) Partway through a song, she suddenly turned it off and asked, "Are you meowing along with the music?" to which I responded, "I wanted to sing along, but I didn't know the song!"

That's the first time I became aware of the meowing.

I have lots of weird music tics, including picking up melodies as I hear them for the first time, singing harmony when there is no harmony recorded, and stomping out rhythms very suddenly. (I dig bass, if I'm not feeling it through the floorboards - I will via my own doing, okay?) I used to play the piano, the guitar, the clarinet, and the oboe. I liked the oboe most.

I studied voice, placed in several competitions, and had musical theater ambitions until I realized that, being a low low alto, there weren't a lot of parts I could play. (And could you believe it - to this day, I've never seen CATS...) As you maybe guessed from all of the "songs stuck in my head" -- I love music. I miss music. Let's make mewsic meow!

This was my first stab at something like this; the wax was difficult to manipulate on my dominant side, but I am happy with the look. Paired with the Freshly Dead Zombie tutorial found here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLIv0mypKDE

Bite made using Ben Nye's Nose & Scar wax in fair, adhered with spirit gum. Interiors of the bite done in FX-35 Dark Crimson (Master Disaster Wheel) while the outer red marks were done in FX-5 Dark Burgundy (Master Bruise Wheel) overlaid with P-17 Death Purple (Death Wheel).

Blood was a combination of Ben Nye's Thick Blood and Stage Blood.

First practice for a student film "Saliva" I am working on this weekend where a wee boy falls off his bike and scrapes his knee.

Had a few people argue that it was so realistic they thought it was a real injury and not makeup! A compliment I suppose.
