Here are three of our elderly girls up on the scratch-post. We have Zoe, Shy-Annie and Joy. We would estimate that all three are over 15 years old. Francis is lower down on the scratch-post with his back to us. He was too busy sleeping to be interested in posing for the camera.

sfhfc: @crazycatwoman yes, we do try to put them on diets from time to time. It's just very difficult to always separate at meal times, plus we always need to have biscuits down all of the time as we have a couple of thyroid cats and underweight cats. Diets are not easy in multi cat households. Good luck with yours

Here is a common view at St Francis. Joy is usually at the front if the queue for fuss from our volunteers. While Bobby will often sit back a bit more but does enjoy his fuss once you get to him, although he prefers to be sat next to you, where as Joy will jump up on your knee and is happy to curl up there until you have to move to get on with the daily duties .

Little and large . Winston and Houdini.

We are still looking to find a forever home for Houdini. If you would like more info about him please visit our news blog via our website and spread the word amongst your cat loving friends. Houdini is FIV+ so would need to be an indoor cat and ideally on his own.

Today has been a busy day at St Francis as we had some maintenance work to do. Due to this we had to secure all 18 residents in the Garden Room for a short time. Here I managed to capture 10 of them in one shot and as you can see all were still relatively relaxed .

Here are Houdini and Jiminy, two of our heavy weights at St Francis. It was good to see them enjoying a bit of exercise on the cat climber in our outside area. This is something I think they need to do a bit more of.

Our volunteers do also encourage them to play with many of the cat toys which they have, and I am told that Houdini is very keen on the laser mice which have been kindly bought for us off our Amazon wish list .
