It is now a year ago since we first met the six kittens which one of our trustees rescued after a man had found them left for dead in a box in a field.

We have stayed in touch with four of the kittens so here is an update on them.

This is Cookie, she was one of the most distinctive of the six kittens as the other five were all tabby. Cookie started off as Shamus as we first thought that she was a boy, but once we found her a loving home with one of our volunteers and her furry family it was established that he was a she, so became Cookie. Cookie has the most adorable face and it really is lovely to see her looking so well a year on. Thank you so much to our volunteer for opening up her home to Cookie and for sharing these pictures with us so that we can see what an adorable girl she has grown up to be.

rvtjess: @lauracorama Not exactly. While a male CALICO is extremely extremely rare, they can still happen. If they survive they will be sterile. I have a "three colored" cat and he is a male, so I think you're referring to calicos ;)

They really did enjoy playing in the wicker basket. I will hopefully see the kittens again next week to get some more photos of them before they go on to their new lives

Here is an update about Cookie (he used to be known as Shamus). She was one of six kittens that one of our trustees hand reared from only three weeks old after they had been left for dead.

We are so pleased to see how well Cookie is doing. Cookie went to live with one of our volunteers and she soon got her paws under the table and settled straight down with her new furry family. We have stayed in touch with four of the kittens so here is an update on them.

Here are Bertie and Bumble. It was so lovely to know that these two were homed together. As kittens they had got on well together and from seeing updates about them from time to time they really do love each other. Again this is so nice to see them a year on.

It is hard to imagine that these adorable cats are the three week old kittens that we first met in a cardboard box looking severely underfed and uncared for. Against the odds our trustee hand reared them all and it is so lovely to see them doing well.

Our thanks go to Bertie and Bumble's new family for taking on this adorable pair and for providing us with photographs and updates of their progress.

Some of you may well have followed our story of the six kittens which we helped to rescue five months ago. This is Cookie, in some ways one of the cutest as being calico she is so different to her five brothers and sisters as they are all tabby. Thanks to Sue (her Mum) for sending in her picture allowing us all to keep updated with how Cookie is doing. By all accounts, Cookie can be a little rascal at times .

KITTEN UPDATE

Back in October last year we rescued and helped to re-home six kittens. Here are two of them, Bertie and Bumble looking quite grown up now (NOT MY PHOTO'S). Many thanks to their new Mum and Dad for sending in these pictures so we can share them with you. They certainly look like they are very happy and loved. It is nice to have a happy ending to a story that started off very sad.

As some of our followers will know Allison (a trustee of St Francis) rescued and re-homed six kittens last year after they had been abandoned in a cardboard box at only three weeks old. On occasions the new owners send in a couple of pictures so that we can see how they are doing. Here are the two that we haven't yet seen, they are Gizmo and Simba. I think this is Gizmo (although I may have got them confused as they are very alike).

Here's a little selection of some of the photos I took of the six adorable kittens which we helped to re-home last year. I'm pleased to say that all six of the kittens which we rescued a couple of months ago have now been re-homed. Unfortunately I haven't got a photo of Rocket and Matt (used to be Matilda) so I am sharing another adorable photo of Bertie and Bumble, who are certainly looking settled now.
