Our residents will be glad when this weekend is over. There are a lot of fireworks going off tonight . Thankfully most of our residents are settled and calm. We have got Classic FM on, feliways plugged in and we also have a few of these igloo cat beds which have been very kindly purchased off our Amazon wish list by some of our supporters. Here Ace has decided to get away from the fireworks.

Will have made me laugh tonight as he keeps strolling around our outside area as if nothing is happening, none of the loud bangs have even made him flinch.

I hope your furry families are all safe and not too scared tonight .

Here is Ace and Daisy curled up in beds next to each other. Daisy is doing ok at the moment but we are still monitoring her very closely as she still isn't herself. We do have to remind ourselves that she is an elderly lady at 18, although we don't think she really looks her age. I do think she is enjoying some of the extra fuss and pampering which she is getting from our volunteers at the moment, she enjoyed two bowls of fresh chicken today .

Here is Bob (no tail) and Ace like two bookends on top of the fireplace. You can just make out Bob's tail, he had to have it amputated just before he came to St Francis as it had been badly injured . He is doing well now and week by week he is becoming more settled with his house mates . You can also just make out the reflection of Rocky's picture in the mirror .

PORTRAIT SERIES

Here is the first of twenty portraits of our residents. Last week I used this border design for a photo on my own feed ( @gray147 ). I looked at it and felt that this was just right for a classic portrait picture. The next thing to do was to get a photo of each of our residents. Some pictures I had already taken and through the week I have taken a few more.

I will be posting these 20 pictures over the weekend (more than I usually post). I hope you enjoy this series

Is three a crowd, not at St Francis. Here Bob, Ace and Libby are on the big new scratch-post which the residents had for Christmas. This. now takes pride of place in front of the main room window, so in the daytime the residents can often be seen keeping an eye on what's going on outside .

sfhfc: @zizoutheshat your right, Pendle has been at the hospice since 1996 so must be at least 16 years old. We don't know why Pendle came to St Francis but we do know that he is well loved and he really is an adorable wise old fella like you said .

Here is the original photo of Ace before I decided to edit it with a dark background so that only his eyes were prominent. In the previous post of Ace I used a few apps, Camera+, Snapseed, and retouch to help to darken some of the background .
