I finally opened one of the vintage patterns I bought several months ago at an estate sale. Most of the pieces were cut, but still in fairly decent condition. I was tickled to see notes beautifully written in cursive....and in French! Are you kidding me?! This seamstress in LA who had tons of patterns was a French lady? I don't know why, but I loved these patterns even more. And then I quickly looked up the translation for some words because unfortunately my high school French classes did not teach me sewing vocabulary.
