Today I have the DEBUT of a brand new segment called THIS IS InTRESTING!
Lots of intresting facts on today's show along with some fictitious folks
like Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley! And let the
Republican presidential wannabe's find something wrong with EVERYTHING
Obama does since that's what their campaign managers tell them to do.
However, Rand takes a stand...on Twitter.
I saw This Is The End. Not a fan. Seth Rogan and James Franco make me
laugh at a guttural level, sure, but I was in no way going to see The
Interview in theaters. I only saw This Is The End because it was free.
And after reading the Rolling Stone Seth Rogan interview from a couple
weeks back, you've gotta assume Seth is hiding naked in a closet somewhere
with a massive bong.
Next show we take a look back at the music from the mountains of interviews
I did this year. It's 2014 FOR THEE RADIO where we listen to music from
some of the best acts I talked to. Plus we'll hear from Chely Shoehart,
Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer!

I said to him, "People must tell you all the time that you look like, um" -- the name wouldn't come to me -- "that actor who was in Freaks and Geeks..."
Brain is definitely clogged. Surely he knows who I mean, and just as surely he'll say it and tell me it's not him.
"... and a bunch of Judd Apatow movies ..."
He gives me this bewildered look like he has no idea.
I think of an additional clue. "He smokes a lot of pot."
"I can relate to that," he says. Or something similar.
Then it comes to me -- the star's name. I say it. He smiles lightly but he's shaking his head, like he either doesn't know who I'm talking about or doesn't acknowledge any resemblance.
Then I have a fleeting thought. Maybe it's really him, and this is his way of handling celebrity-spotters.
Or maybe he gets this all the time, and he's just having fun. Maybe he instructed his friends to play along with him, because that's what they're doing.
I take a few photos, and as I drift away I keep slipping into an It's Actually Him mindset.
It's a few weeks before I process the film and have another look, and the resemblance doesn't look quite so strong. Nevertheless, I just have to check Google Image Search.
What do you think I discovered?
last night, i went to a benefit for 826LA , the writing center in Venice where I tutor kids once a week. I will blog it later, but for starters, here's a sampling of who I met at the event:
Will Ferrell (needs to cut the mop)
Dave Grohl (omg dave grohl!!!!! you all know how important that is)
Zooey Deschanel (apparently dating an acquaintence of mine)
Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor (ben stiller!!! i joked with him about the gift bags. and she is seriously gorgeous)
Ted Danson (really nice)
Ed Norton (kind of gave me the brush-off)
Dave Eggers (awesome to the awesome - he founded the 826 centers and was really cool and hung out with all the volunteers)
Judd Apatow
Aimee Mann
Garry Shandling
Loudon Wainwright
JJ Abrams
David Krumholz
Will Arnet
Andy Richter
Katherine Heigl (wearing hot librarian glasses)
Seth Rogan (who was "honored" at the event for "service he has yet to do" - he was in 40 year old virgin, was totally down to earth- come on, he's not that famous. and his gf was nice too)
