I was not happy with picture yesterday, so I made a new one.

Ik was niet tevreden mijn 'HOLIDAY BOKEH' bijdrage van gisteren, daarom maakte ik vandaag een nieuwe foto.
Salmon trout, this was one of the ideas for Macro Monday, theme Single use. Single use, because after eating once it’s gone. However, for Macro Mondays I would need to cut it down, or just show a small piece to meet the size restriction. And my I add; the fish was as usual delicious.
The Salmon trout was served on table ware from Villeroy & Boch, series Manufacture Rock, the fish bones, too.
Oher then this, strobist information, mix of day light and flash, single mono light from above, tilted approx. 30 ° with one huge Elinchrom Litemotiv Para Soft box 120cm (47.3"). Have a look at the soft shadows.

Ornate patterns are the norm in Islamic countries due to the iconoclastic tradition as can be seen with these items in this shop in the covered kasbah of Fez (Fès), Morocco. The old medina of Fez was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1981.
I didn't even see the hand sneaking in there for a little poke when I took the shot!

While sitting out on the deck at a Mother’s Day family function we were served tea on a somewhat worn chromed serving tray. After the cups, saucers and spoons were handed out, two spoons remained on the tray. I notice the red umbrella protecting us from the sun was reflected in the bowl of the spoons as well as in the handles. The bright red meant I had to follow the Red Rule and I got in close to get this image. - JW

Taken using a hand-held Nikon D7100 fitted with a Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 (272E) lense, ISO200, Auto WB, Aperture priority mode, f/8.0, 1/320 sec. PP in free Open Source RAWTherapee from Nikon RAW/NEF source file: Set final size to 9000x6000, adjust exposure to +1.2 stops brighter than as-shot, slightly increase contrast and Chromaticity in L-A-B mode, enable Shadows/highlights and recover highlight detail, adjust colour temperature to be slightly less blue than as-shot, slightly increase vibrance, reduce Luminance noise slightly (in L-A-B mode), sharpen, save. PP in free Open Source GIMP: adjust the tone curve to brighten the highlight end of the curve and darken the shadow end at about the 10% from the left point, slightly boost overall contrast, adjust colour balance to remove some residual blue, slighlty boost overall saturation, copy the image to a new top layer and label that layer the spoon layer and label the layer below that the background adjustment layer, add a black/transparent mask to the top/spoon layer, on the top layer’s mask paint in the spoons and their shadows using a soft-edged brush with white paint to protect the spoons while showing the layer below, in the lower layer (background adjustment layer) adjust the tone curve to brighten the background (the chrome serving tray surface) and then on that layer clone out some significant dirty spots, create new working layer from visible result, fine tune colour balance, sharpen, save, scale image to 6000x4000, add fine black and white frame, add bar and text on left, save, scale image to 1800 wide for posting online, sharpen, save.
Went over to Coronado Island to visit the old dowager Hotel Del Coronado. It was a very busy place. A wedding going in one of the gardens (closed to the public and where this drink lady was headed), a skating rink on another lawn (mooshy ice and filled with skaters of all levels of expertise) and a sand castle on Central Beach (the artist trolling for donations from photographers). Went inside the lobby and we were lets say way underdressed for the well healed patrons lined up for brunch.
Hotel del Coronado (also known as The Del and Hotel Del) is a beachfront luxury hotel in the city of Coronado, just across the San Diego Bay from San Diego, California. It is one of the few surviving examples of an American architectural genre: the wooden Victorian beach resort. It is the second largest wooden structure in the United States (after the Tillamook Air Museum in Tillamook, Oregon) and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977 and a California Historical Landmark in 1970.
The hotel was once listed by USA Today as one of the top ten resorts in the world, though it has since been removed from that list.
The legendary Hotel del Coronado is located on 28 oceanfront acres on Coronado Island. Built in 1888 the Del is an American treasure with over 125 years of stories to tell. The Del's visionary founders, Elisha Babcock and H.L. Story, dreamed of building a seaside resort that would be "the talk of the Western world."
Shortly after opening in 1888, the Hotel Del Coronado was sold to John D. “Sugar King” Spreckels. (See the Balboa Park Organ Pavilion photo previous,also, tied to the Sprekels).
Since then, the resort has become a living legend, visited by celebrities, dignitaries and U.S. presidents. It was the film location for the 1959 comedy classic "Some Like It Hot" starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. The Del continues to maintain its rich history while also offering contemporary conveniences such as unique beachfront dining experiences, an award-winning spa, upscale shopping, a variety of recreational activities and the luxurious cottages and villas at Beach Village. The hotel's spectacular setting, impeccable service and award-winning cuisine also makes it the perfect setting for a fairytale wedding or group event.
The Babcock & Story Bar, on the ground level of the Hotel del Coronado, is named after the hotel's founders, Elisha Babcock and H. L. Story. The pair bought the entire peninsula of Coronado, and developed the hotel originally as a hunting and fishing resort that also offered more urbane pursuits such as archery, golf, bicycling, music and chess. The centerpiece, the original mahogany bar, stretches 46 feet in length. It was carried by ships around Cape Horn from Philadelphia in 1888.
Eleven U.S. Presidents have visited The Del, starting with Benjamin Harrison in 1891. One of the resort's most famous visitors was England's Prince of Wales in 1920. He would later become King Edward VIII, only to give up his throne in 1936 to marry Coronado divorcee Wallis Spencer Simpson. Many have speculated that they may have first met at The Del.
The Del has played host to some of America's greats, including Thomas Edison, L. Frank Baum and Babe Ruth. Famed aviator Charles Lindbergh was honored at The Del in 1927 after his successful trans-Atlantic flight. At this lavish banquet, a replica of Lindbergh's "Spirit of St. Louis" circled the enormous Crown Room ceiling.

Those of you that guessed #4 was the lie were right. I am not allergic to chocolate. I love chocolate, in fact not a day goes by that I don't have chocolate in some form or another. So there's another fact about me. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, see my previous picture Pieces of Me (self portrait) for an explanation. This magnificent handmade tray is a true work of art. Created from Spanish ceramic tiles and painted wood, it brings a wonderful mix of colour and texture to your breakfast table.
The mosaic tiles at the bottom of the inside of the tray are gorgeously grouted in black, with metal hardware applied to the corners. After talking to some friends about what I had photographed here I was told that the crust is made with canned crescent dough and then topped with a sour cream, ranch dressing and cream cheese mixture.
After you do that the sky is the limit when it comes to toppings. It looks like they used cherry tomatoes, broccoli, cucumber, carrot, banana pepper, cauliflower and cheddar cheese on this one
