A Maple Leaf I carved in walnut. The walnut in this carving is from a log I saved from a burn pile a few years ago. A local tree service had cut it out of someone's yard and nobody wanted it so I took it, split it, worked the pieces down to rough boards and then dried them. Once they were dry I jointed and planed them true and started carving!
Gorgeous deep red CarltonWare candy dish/ serving platter, from their very collectable Rouge Royale line in production from the 1940s. These pieces have a beautiful iridescent quality to their glaze and are trimmed with gold.
Vintage New In Box Anchor Hocking Wexford 3 Part Divided Relish Serving Dish. This platter is in the Wexford design & is hexagon shaped being divided into 3 separate sections. Produced through 1960's-1970's. This thick heavy glass platter is in Great condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. Measuring 8 1/2" diameter.
I threw this large platter on my kick wheel.After trimming a foot into the bottom, it was dried and bisque fired.
After the first firing, I glazed my scale design to the top and sides of the platter. The foot around the bottom was glazed in a bright red, for a pop of color. It was then refired.

This platter can be hung on the wall :) The hanger is built into the foot of the platter for easy storage!

Summer is officially waning and I'm just only now getting into the hot dog craving.
This was given to me from a friend who found it in a church basement. I just picture all of the great Sunday buffet dishes served on it over the decades.
Ironically, I was flipping through the channels a week ago and noticed this very plate adorns the wall in one of the sets on Lifetime's "Army Wives"
