Server room finally organized after 3 years of chaos.

Later come the Xserves and Xserve RAID. Yum.

easily 5-6x larger than the current space, with room for a third (even a fourth if necessary) equipment rack. All the networking hardware, video gear and computers will go in this room, and will be connected to the office space via a switch system that allows for access to any of the machines. They've just started painting this room white. Also, this space is air conditioned, which is a big deal.

Don't get too excited. These are only replacements for existing customers.

The walls of the new server room are being studded out. You can see our 4-post rack is being stored in here. We didn't have another place for it.

I recently changed my server to a DNS-based load balancing cluster. I think the graphs here are pretty interesting.

The time has come for the Linux server to receive a software upgrade. It's been running Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope, but it is time to bring the software up to date. Through a series of incremental upgrades, the server will be running Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat when the upgrades are complete. The construction crew has set to work getting the upgrades started so the IT crew can take over and get the new software up and running.
