The aim of this trip was to bring together divided and diverse neighbours across Cape Town in order to encounter moments of healing and glimpses of transformation that have been sadly absent from our process of growth as a democratic nation. The trip wss guided by the principles and policies of Agang SA that believe in the need to pragmatically and constructively address the socio-political issues that face us as a nation, guided by the principles of Active Citizenship and Servant-Leadership. The trip visited a number of communities in Khayelistsha as well as a Wynberg shelter for abused women from Lavender Hill.
Goleman's work on Emotional Intelligence has proven the need for self-awareness in a leader. It's hard to work on the weaknesses you can't see. Objectivity is the work of seeing reality clearly and not distorting it with our own junk.
