It is that time of year here in Australia and when I am out riding, I am always ready for the occasional magpie swooping when I venture into its territory during the nesting season, but it is still a little unnerving when it happens! So, after this one swooped me no less than seven times, I had no choice but to stop, get off the trike, and shoot it (with the camera of course!!!)

Decided while we were in Munich last Friday to drop by the BMW headquarters and allow the car to visit with it's relatives. MK and I had a great time visiting the museum and were able to catch a few photos too. Maybe just me, but I really thought I caught a slight grin on the front grill of the car as we returned to the parking garage. The car seemed to have had as good a time as we did, and it purred all the way back to Stuttgart. :-)

Odaiba is a reclaimed island in the Tokyo Bay connected to the main island with the Rainbow Bridge as you see in the photo. This area is a major magnet of the new island.

Tokyo Bayside used to be the downtown of Edo, the old name of the capital of Japan until 1868. It was converted to industrial areas and marginalised in the 20th century, but is being revived dramatically in the 21st century with government initiatives to transform old industrial areas to business, commerce and residential purposes.

The Haus der Statistik is a building complex in the Berlin district Mitte in Otto-Braun-Straße 70-72 (between 1966 and 1995 Hans-Beimler-Straße), south of Karl-Marx-Allee. It was founded in 1968-1970 as the headquarters of the State Central Administration for Statistics of the GDR. After German reunification, German authorities used the buildings, which have been empty since 2008.

Until 2017, the building was owned by the Federal Republic of Germany, which wanted to demolish it and sell the site. However, the Berlin Senate was able to acquire the building complex as part of the capital city financing agreement. Together with several other initiatives and administrations, the complex will be completely renovated and will be used for a wide range of purposes.

These may *look* like Fake Plastic Trees, but they're not...

I had never seen a date farm before, so I had never seen so many perfect palm trees lined up in so many perfect rows (not even in Hawaii!). It was a sight to behold.

(I had also never had a date shake before; they are very, very sweet...not to mention very difficult to drink through a straw.)

I decided to veer from this week's topic which was "In Your Local Area." Instead, here are some bowls of cereal We love cereal. My husband and daughter eat it practically everyday. My daughter is obsessed with Double Chocolate Krave (in the green bowl). I only get to eat cereal on the weekend. Right now, my favorite is Banana Nut Crunch, but sometimes I like to have a bowl of oatmeal.
