Henna hands with a sequins dress.

There are two Eid (celebrations) in Islam. October 13th marked Eid al Fitr in the UK and the vast majority of girls (and women!) will have henna on their hands the night before at a party known as chaand raat (the night when the moon can be seen), as well as dress up in fun colored outfits the morning after for Eid prayers at the mosque; this one has dotted sequins with a multi coloured sequence borders.

Usually, once applied, and dried, henna is dabbed with lemon juice which brings out the colour. Here, it was dabbed with juice too early hence the smudged effect. You live and learn :p

What a lovely day. I was granted a lovely long lie-in while J taught C about cricket (and about losing at cricket), then we met friends for lunch. Back home for proper Alpha Mummy craft session, making peg dolls from a kit given to C for her birthday. Glam fairy peg dolls with sequins, naturally.
