A view from the northwest of GZ
The dust looks much more massive from this perspective since the view is very close to being along the prevailing winds. You are looking at the outward flowing debris as well as the drifting finer particles and the pre-existing plume. The finer debris seems much thicker since you are looking along the path of travel.
