Professor Wei Lu leads research in advanced battery materials, electrochemical modeling, and smart battery management systems. His lab develops next-generation technologies to make electric vehicle batteries safer, longer lasting, and more efficient—most recently through a piezoelectric separator that prevents dendrite formation in lithium metal cells. This innovation, under license through the U-M startup Dendrifree, could enable higher energy densities and faster charging while reducing safety risks, paving the way for more reliable and sustainable electric mobility.

This is a LEGO LINAC (linear accelerator) model, miniland scaled.
A medical linear accelerator is used for radiation therapy treatment in oncology.
The model resembles a LINAC of the Siemens Mevatron series; this series was produced from 1974 until well into the 1990s. Some systems may still be in operation!
The model is isocentric.

Die Maschinenbaufirma Alfa Laval hat einen Standort in Tumba - gegründet wude die Firma 1883 als AB Separator gegründet. Die Pumpen wurden verwendet um Magermilch aus Zentrifugalabscheidern zu pumpen; 1890 wird der erste Milchpasteurisierapparat und 1910 eine Melkmaschine konstuiert. 1963 wurde der Name der Firma in Alfa-Laval AB geändert.
Der Protagonist in Peter Weiss "Die Ästhetik des Widerstands" verschlägt es nach der Auflösung der Internationalen Brigaden und dem Zusammenbruch der Spanischen Republik 1938 zunächst nach Paris und schließlich nach Schweden. Er arbeitet in der auf Rüstungsproduktion umgestellte „Separator Fabrik – die jetzige Alfa Laval und betätigt sich in der illegalen KP.
"Separatoren werden nur noch für Meiereien hergestellt, nicht mehr für den bäuerlichen Bedarf. Die Drehbänke in den größeren Maschinensälen sind umgebaut worden zur Herstellung von Granaten. Die Stücke werden von den Eisenwerken im Norden geliefert, produziert werden Geschosse der Kaliber sieben und zehneinhalb Zentimeter." S. 709
