A sequel to an earlier b&w photo.

San Francisco

Another vintage photo which fit with b&w so recently converted it. Loosely fits with a retrospective Forbidden Love series but maybe there will be more b&w forbidden love sightings. In any case am focused on b&w at the moment going forward although will certainly return to color.

then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it's true I'm here, and I'm just as strange as you.

Happy weekend - Happy October, Everyone!

Taken with a Canon 100mm Macro

The last week at work has been mad so I've not had much time for flickr.

I took this a little while ago and have been meaning to upload it for a few days.

Okay so there isn't anything special about this but I like the way that the reflection is clear while the crown is blue.

Sector 58C of the institution isn't a place you go to for a holiday. Or... er... at all if you can help it. Especially with a newly born child.

Especially.

Yup.

Anyway...er maybe you'd love to:

John Prescott and a statue, seen in a Museum in Xi`ag, China.

The similarity is amazing, as if they had been switched at birth !

( Prescott is the disgraced Deputy Leader of the Labour Party in England ! )

This is my friend Annie (rt) anticipating the "Taylor Swift look" by 50 years in 1960s Arizona.

"The Architect", in the Matrix film trilogy pictured on the left, has some passing resemblance to Vinton Cerf, colloquially known as the "Father of the Internet" and Google's Chief Internet Evangelist.

I compared the two after photographing Vint at the recent SMX West conference in Santa Clara, California, where he was interviewed by Chris Sherman in one of the keynotes.

Coincidental resemblance? You decide.

I blogged about this: Vint Cerf & the Architect in the Matrix.

1. Moses. 2. A beautiful woman. 3. A great musician. 4. An engine inventor. 5. One I'm sure they threw in to make me feel better about the first four!

on the left, a packaged meat pie, and on the right, a giant water bug carrying a nest of eggs on its back. the insect, a member of the belostomatidae family, often makes the internet rounds as the gross wtf bug. the meal made itself known to me in a local grocery store's flyer, and i instantly saw the resemblance.

moving from the merely unpleasant to disgusting filth, toronto's current mayor rob fraud may soon be tossed out on his ass if the judge in his conflict of interest case does the right thing. clownmayor claims he has no idea what the problem is with his actions, despite being instructed repeatedly on how to act and being given a handbook detailing proper behaviour. of course he lies about all of this, because, like the typical reactionary conservative moron that he is, he feels he has no standards to live up to and can act with impunity. the torontoist has a decent collection of the formal complaints against mayor mcgravy, but the informal litany would take more web space than is currently occupied by cats. on a personal note, i've emailed the mayor many times and after two autoresponses, his office now doesn't bother to reply. no surprise, really, since mayor asshole admits that he doesn't read anything he ought to, doesn't write the emails, tweets and letters attributed to him, and has zero interest in learning even the basics of his job.

in discussing the fool and his behaviour with colleagues and friends, one consistent theme has emerged - if any of us in our jobs had acted in ways that this buffon has, we'd all have been terminated with just cause long ago, and some of us would have been court-ordered to pay restitution to our employers for our ineptness and lies. as the employers of this idiot, i think the citizens and taxpayers of toronto should demand that judge charles hackland remove the mayor from office and bar him from civil service jobs for the next seven years. on a side note, i am offended that this parasite is escorted everywhere by a phalanx of police officers. let him make his way to the court unattended like most other accused criminals - only in exceptional cases should defendants be protected, and since all of this is a result of what he has admitted are his own actions, he'd better be the one personally paying the salaries for the people who have to smell his stink wafting out of his $99 polyester caftan. he should also have his pay docked for being off work to appear in court.

get out of my city, you disgusting bag of waste. i hope your ridiculous party is a complete disaster for you and your criminal troglodyte family and that everyone shits on your lawn.

Nikolai Yezhov was a senior figure in the NKVD (the Soviet secret police) during the period of the Great Purge. Under Yezhov, the purges reached their height, with roughly half of the Soviet political and military establishment being imprisoned or shot, along with hundreds of thousands of others, suspected of disloyalty or "wrecking".

I was watching "Los 80" on Chilean TV and was struck by how much Daniel Muñoz looks like Richard Schiff, who played Toby Ziegler on The West Wing.

Here's a Munoz scene from Los 80:

I never thought famous people could ressemble each-other like they were twins!

i'm told they're not related. but seriously, can you even tell them apart? they're nearly identical in both appearance and talent.

Jason Castro from American Idol, and Jar Jar Binks, the worst Star Wars character ever. Separated at birth? You make the call.

This girl right here holds a very very very special place in my heart. That middle picture is the first photo I ever saw by Ali and I have been a HUGE fan of her ever since. But thanks to the wonders of the internet and flickr we are more than just "flickr friends". She is more than just some contact I stalk on flickr. She is someone I stalk in real life. :P She is one of my best friends. She is always there to listen to me bitch about how life isn't fair or rejoice with me when good things happen. She is the sweetest girl you could ever know and I am so blessed to have her in my life. Plus she is an amazing photographer AND she just started a second 365 which you all should be following! And this is the girl who conned me into doing another 365. Haha.

I love you Ali -- BIG! I can't even express how much you mean to me. <3 <3 <3

The critter on the left is a tarsier, an endangered primate species native to the Philippines.

If only creationists were an endangered species....

While we were in Ann Arbor, we read this adorably cute book called "Unlovable" by Dan Yaccarino at a gay bookstore (yes, it's a children's book - but it's pretty darn gay if you read it). Sion could relate to the dog's seemingly impossible quest to find someone just like him...especially after growing up in the small town of Manacor in Mallorca, Spain -- where it sometimes felt like he was the only gay person around.

But while Sion DOES bear a striking resemblance to the canine main character (hee hee)...he is also ANYTHING BUT unlovable in my book. He's the complete opposite -- the MOST lovable person that I, or anyone he's ever come in contact with, has ever met. Don't you just want to give him a huge hug?? :-D

I adore him with all my heart, and miss him so much while he's away these weeks in Spain. And while it hurts to be apart...he knows he is ALWAYS loved by a certain comics-loving, half-Japanese guy with crutches in NYC. :-)

Taken at Bristol Zoo - with those earlier images in my stream - at the same location as the woman and the bird looking over her shoulder.

However, unlike the vast majority of my images, I actually saw this guy near the image of the monkey, and couldn’t resist asking him to stand by the photo. He did well to keep a straight face; given that his family are wetting themselves stage right. : )
