I already presented this microphone for Macro Mondays in March 2022 for the "mesh" theme.

This time, for the "M" theme, I chose to get much closer with the extension tubes and a 5 diopter lens.

They're good for a fun listening experience.

Oh... and on a side note:

The weather here is terrible and the ban on going out isn't exactly helping with taking pics ;;

This MD421 microphone was produced from 1960 by the German company Sennheiser in Wedemark-Wennebostel, and is known as a true classic all over the world and is still highly valued today! It is a so-called dynamic large diaphragm microphone, its frequency response ranges from 30 to 17000 Hz and is almost linear! In 1964, the Beatles used several MD421s at a concert in Melbourne, and George Harrison, the Beachboys and José Feliciano and many others also sang with this excellent microphone; countless politicians and reporters were also impressed by the balanced sound and its perfect quality. My MD421 is from the first production series and works as it did on the first day. It comes with an MZA 421 adapter as an accessory, with which it can be attached to a tripod or, as on my picture to a MZT 421 desk stand.

I got this microphone almost 40 years ago. It was laying on the floor at an abandoned radio station in NYC. It’s such as classic that you can still buy one new 60+ years after it was introduced.

I was practicing this technique from watching video of using light painting technique to take product photos. Quite interesting result I must say.

I forgot to change the file format to raw, so here you go, jpeg minor edited using Lightroom Android.
