The beautiful Wilayah Mosque has 23 composite domes designed in the traditional form of the Ottoman mosques in Turkey.
Especially interesting is the outer cladding ornamentation technique that was specially developed using computerized "pixel" technique. This new technique allows patterning of ornaments using mosaic tiles that can be displayed in any form or colour in a high degree of smoothness and quality.
The outer cladding of the 30m main dome is finished in turquoise mosaic tiles with floral motifs in the style of Safavid mosques in Isfahan. Its inner cladding is of a simple relief ornamentation in pale cream.

When visiting Bandar Hilir, you may be offered to have a trishaw ride. If you never had this ride before, you should take the offer. It will be a fun and joy ride. These trishaws here are all being 'make-up' with flowers and lights. They even sometimes plays loud music while taking visitors for a ride. Its fun, its really fun.
Outside the church on the main square the trishaw drivers ply for business. Their "Tour" consists of stopping off in Chinatown at the various temples and mosques, before heading past the Dutch ship and out to the A'Famosa area before returning to the church.
It's obviously a very touristy thing to do, but if you are very short of time then it is novel way of "doing" the sights.

The Putrajaya International Fireworks Competition 2013 organised by the Putrajaya Corporation together with Duago Corp Sdn Bhd is expected to draw three million visitors.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to launch the event on Aug 30 in conjunction with the Merdeka Eve celebration at the Maritime Centre, Precinct 5, Putrajaya on Aug 30 and 31, Sept 13 to 15 and Oct 2.
Putrajaya Corporation president Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat said the competition was expected to receive positive support with about 500,000 people coming to Putrajaya each night to observe the event.
"The competition has also received full support from the Tourism Ministry as well as Federal Territory Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, who is also Putrajaya Member of Parliament," he said at a media conference, in Putrajaya, Tuesday.
Aseh said the competition would last 25 minutes each night beginning at midnight on Aug 30 and 9pm on other nights.
Six countries would be competing namely China, United Arab Emirates, the United States, Korea, France and Malaysia during the six-day competition.
Meanwhile, he said the name Pusat Maritim would be changed to Putrajaya Marina effective Aug 30.

The Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque (Malay: Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz) is the state mosque of Selangor, Malaysia. It is located in Shah Alam. It is the country's largest mosque and also the second largest mosque in Southeast Asia after Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, Indonesia. Its most distinguishing feature is its large blue and silver dome. The mosque has four minarets, one erected at each of the corners. The mosque was commissioned by the late Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz, when he declared Shah Alam as the new capital of Selangor on 14 February 1974. Construction began in 1982 and finished on 11 March 1988. The Mosque is also known as the Blue Mosque owing to its blue dome. The building has the distinction of having the largest religious dome in the world, it measures 51.2 m (167 ft) in diameter and reaches 106.7 m (350 ft) above ground level. The four minarets, each reaching 142.3 m (460 ft) above ground level are the 2nd tallest in the world, the distinction of the world's highest being held by the Hassan II Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الحسن الثاني) in Casablanca, Morocco. In its early years, the mosque was listed in the Guinness World Records as having the tallest minaret in the world before being supplanted by the 210 m (689 ft) at the Hassan II Mosque when that structure was inaugurated in August 1993. The Blue Mosque (Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz) does however still maintain the distinction of having the world's tallest group of minarets as the set of four each stand at 142.3 m (460 ft) above ground level.

Pintu gerbang ini mempunyai senibina dan reka bentuk yang sangat unik dan menarik yang merupakan satu warisan yang tidak ternilai harganya. Senibina pintu gerbang ini dibina oleh tukang mahir Kelantan dengan menggunakan kayu cengal yang dihiasi dengan motif ukiran floral yang dicat berwarna emas.
