I just came home from a quite long car ride (8 hours) and what I did miss the most was the sun. The entire day was wet and grey and dull. This is why I now need to send some colour and sun into the world. before I will go back to my photos from Portugal tomorrow.

After the rain, these tiny pearls were lined up on the edges of the roses. If you look closely, you can discover my house in multiple versions ;-) Unfortunately I cannot send you the fragrance – this rose smells sooo good.

the secrets of my garden:

Sometimes you just get really lucky.

There is a light veil of haze over the forest in front of my vantage point on mt. small Winterberg in den Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Thin enough to still be able to see the trees clearly and dense enough to adequately diffuse the light of the rising sun. The sun appears punctually and in the perfect spot on the horizon to send its rays into the fog from behind. Finally, the trees are covered with a still delicate fresh green.

The result can be seen here. The whole forest begins to glow. A magical sight that left me with a feeling of deep gratitude.

The biggest problem I had at that point (if I may call it that) was deciding which section to photograph and which not to photograph. That's why it couldn't stop with this one here.

The morning fog together with the rising sun over the forests of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains send me a message in the form of a bar code.

To my great regret, I am unable to decipher this code and so I can only stand there in awe at the sight and guess what the message could possibly mean.

It could be a simple "Good morning hiker" or a call for help (since there was a severe fire in the area recently, that would not be so improbable).

But maybe it was just an invitation to stop and really see. To see and feel the wonders that surround us every day. Appreciating them and preserving them and showing them to other people.

If that was the case, then I understood the assignment and gladly accepted it.

Dear Flickr friends,

Unfortunately, I currently don't have the time to be active in the usual way and to spend time here. For this reason I would like to at least send a greeting and say that I am not out of the world yet ;-) Looking forward to hopefully having enough opportunity again soon to give your photos the honor they deserve.

Aşk bir Mevsim — Pinhâni

It's too late, right time to go

But your eyes don't say goodbye

Your hands are still in my hands, your smell's still in my mind

There's no end for those farewells

This is not happening to me for the first time

I need a little time, wound is deep

I cried yesterday while you sleep

Secretly, quietly, inside

It'll be hard this time, obviously

Today is "after you"

Love is a season, it won't come again

Being alone doesn't scare me

This city gets to used it, surely gets used to your absence

Today is "after you"

Love is a season, it won't come again

Being alone doesn't scare me

This heart gets to used it, surely gets used to your absence

Maybe it was a dream, we were sleeping

But we loved dreams, we won't forget

In the country of people that pretending loved to much

We'll find a place to run away for sure

Today is "after you"

Love is a season, it won't come again

Being alone doesn't scare me

This city gets to used it, surely gets used to your absence

Today is "after you"

Love is a season, it won't come again

Being alone doesn't scare me

Aşk bir mevsim

Çok geç olmuş, tam vakti gitmenin

Ama hoşça kal demiyor ki gözlerin

Ellerin elimde hala, kokun daha hafızamda

Sonu yok bu elveda deyişlerin

İlk defa olmuyor ki bu bana

Biraz zaman lazım, derin yara

Ağladım dün sen uyurken

Gizli gizli, sessiz, içimden

Bu sefer ağır gelecek, besbelli

Bugün günlerden senden sonra

Aşk bir mevsim, gelmez bir daha

Yalnız kalmak korkutmaz ki

Alışır bu şehir, alışır elbet yokluğuna

Bugün günlerden senden sonra

Aşk bir mevsim, gelmez bir daha

Yalnız kalmak korkutmaz ki

Alışır bu gönül, alışır elbet yokluğuna

Belki bir düş gördük, rüyadayız

Ama düşleri sevdik, unutmayız

Sanki çok sevmiş gibi yapanların ülkesinde

Kaçacak bi yer buluruz elbette

Bugün günlerden senden sonra

Aşk bir mevsim, gelmez bir daha

Yalnız kalmak korkutmaz ki

Alışır bu şehir, alışır elbet yokluğuna

Bugün günlerden senden sonra

Aşk bir mevsim, gelmez bir daha

Yalnız kalmak korkutmaz ki

Alışır bu gönül, alışır elbet yokluğuna

Bugün günlerden senden sonra

The Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media , the Bezirksregierung Münster , the German Foundation for Monument Protection and the municipality of Senden granted funding for the ongoing overall overhaul of the facility. At the Rombergtrakt and at the Mannenhaus, grave damage to the wooden construction is first repaired, and ground improvement or deep foundations are carried out with simultaneous stabilization of the foundations at the Mannenhaus. Through the use of volunteers from the Jugendbauhütte NRW-Westfalen, numerous important measures have been taken since 2016 in several project seminars.

A birthday song for Chandana

* To the birthday child Chandana* A German birthday song

I woke up early,

I've been doing some thinking:

What could it be today?

And that's when I thought of it:

Birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday we celebrate,

and all those who love you congratulate you.

Flowers, cakes, wreath of lights

and a dance of joy show you,

how happy we are,

if it sounds against you:

Birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday we celebrate,

and all those who love you congratulate you.

For the new year of life,

everyone wishes you far and near,

all the best and how today,

always a heart full of happiness.

Birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday we celebrate,

and all those who love you congratulate you dear Chandana! -

Dear Chandana, we sing this song very often when friends and family have a birthday, for example, and I also sang it with my students for a fellow student who had a birthday. Today I want to send you this song with a bouquet of roses to Sri Lanka.

I couldn't find anyone who wrote the lyrics and composed the melody on the internet.

Congratulations, many wonderful days for your new year and a great mountain of health I wish you.

Greetings, dear friend and have a great day! Your Magrit from Berlin

Ein Geburtstagsständchen für Chandana

* An das Geburtstagskind Chandana* Ein deutsches Geburtstaglied

Früh schon bin ich aufgewacht,

hab' ein wenig nachgedacht:

Was mag heute denn nur sein?

Und da fiel es mir gleich ein:

Geburtstag, Geburtstag, Geburtstag feiern wir,

und alle, die Dich lieben, gratulieren Dir.

Blumen, Kuchen, Lichterkranz

Deine Magrit

This is the backside of Schloss Senden and pretty rear-end it has, there is a walking trail that follows around the moat and connects to various park trails offering many beautiful views of the castle.

The municipal government around Senden Castle was initially not too interested in repairing the castle in its dilapidated state as a study commissioned in 2007 reported that the commercial value of the property was one half million Euro but the repair costs would be between six and nine million Euro.

In 2015 seven citizens formed a non-profit called “Friends of Schloss Send” who acquired the building and have been working to restore it fully ever since through petitions to local, state and federal governments for financial aid and an army of volunteers to help realize their dream of restoration and community use.

Both sunrises and sunsets are among the most impressive natural spectacles at the Bastei. Particularly fascinating is the interplay of clouds breaking up the horizon, allowing the sun to cast a stunning play of colors into the valley.

It's worth taking a look down below – especially at the point where the Elbe River bends. Here, the light unfolds a truly magical effect.

I look forward to your opinions and suggestions!

Schloss Senden, is a place with centuries of history. The manor house with its typical three-tiered Münsterland gables was built in the second half of the 15. Century. The association Schloss Senden revived the 2015 castle after it had decayed more and more in the years before. The extensive green spaces and the castle park embedded in the nature are located directly on the Stever

The brother Sanders II, Bernd Droste zu Senden, married in 1481 the heiress Anna von Heiden to Beck (1462-1492) and established the line of the Droste to Beck at Beck Castle . Sander III. Droste zu Senden was entrusted with the Gogericht zu Senden in 1510 by the mayor and council of the city of Münster, and in 1519 he was elected by the provincial authorities as the executor of the state association. 1587 is reported by the pillage and plundering of the village and the house sending by the "Hispanic" during the Spanish-Dutch Eighty Years War .

By inheritances 1680 good Patzlar and 1713 good Isingholt were added, 1729 good Venhaus by purchase. [1]

The castle was occupied by British soldiers during the Second World War, partly devastated and plundered. In 1957 it sold the baronial family Droste zu Senden , which, however, to this day holds the associated estate and the Senden'schen Hof in Münster; new residence was the nearby forester Wulfshoek.

The purchaser of the castle operated there first a commercial school board, then a retirement pension and finally since the 1980s until the late 1990s, a hotel, which was closed after a fire in the attic. Thereafter, the building was largely empty and housed only the sculptor courses of the Art School Send. D

Long time exposure at a weir near Senden, at the river Iller. The water level of the river was so low at that time that I was able to take this photo from a gravel bank which is usually under water.

I used two stacked ND filters ND64 and ND8.

Biermösl Blosn - "Bayern"

Schloss Senden is pictured here in its sedate beauty, this serene setting has been the scene of countless feuds for over half a millennium of its existence with in fighting between the family lines of the Von Sendens.

The Droste zu Senden family an offshoot of the Senden family had owned the castle since the 14th century and sold it off due to its ailing state in 1957after 500 years of continuous ownership.

The developer that purchased the castle tried various endeavors to start a business out of the Schloss but was unsuccessful at all of them and abandoned the effort in the early eighties leaving the castle to fall in on its self.

The Castle was well on its way to becoming a forgotten place and sinking slowly into ruin when a group of seven citizens formed a preservation society and have been since leading the charge to restore and reclaim some functionality for the castle in the community.

RE42 (80596) (Essen Hbf - Münster (Westf.) Hbf)

With this photo of a wintry sunrise (without snow this time) near the town of Tisá in the Bohemian part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, I wish you all a wonderful 4th Adent with a big load of Christmas atmosphere (even without snow).

At the same time, I wholeheartedly dedicate this photo to those of You who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to experience the Christmas season with full joy.

Be it because you work in a job that requires your commitment even during the holidays (and nights) or because personal challenges demand too much attention.

Or maybe you are in a phase of life where there are only a few people around you with whom you can share these moments.

Or are you currently confronted with health challenges that you or important people in your life are struggling with.

Not to forget those of you who have to fight the consequences of poverty, hunger, war and displacement every day.

I would like to send these rays of sunshine to all of you, which should penetrate the thicket and lighten the shadows a little.

I send you my thoughts, my love and the confidence that the light always finds a way.

“Cathedral Light” is a nighttime long-exposure photograph of Cologne Cathedral and the Hohenzollern Bridge, taken from the banks of the Rhine.

The central subject is the monumental cathedral, whose Gothic architecture is accentuated by carefully directed lighting. The bridge on the right, with its steel arches, forms a contrast between sacred verticality and industrial horizontality.

The light trails of a passing boat on the Rhine create a dynamic, almost abstract layer that breaks through the static presence of the architectural structures. Reflections in the water add depth and atmosphere.

The image captures a moment where history, urbanity, and aesthetics converge: Cologne as an intersection between tradition and modernity, expressed through light and structure.

Please note that some comments and instructions will be sent.

Well then, I'd like to send you a sign of life and, at the same time, an answer to the question of where I am currently traveling.

From the photo, it might be difficult to pinpoint the exact location, so I'll tell you.

We are here in the park of Moschen Castle in Poland, the first stop on my little tour. The castle (which now houses a 4-star hotel) was my original destination. But it turned out to be far less photogenic than I imagined.

Fortunately, the complex includes a large and beautiful park, where I spent most of my time. Nature, after all, is fitting better to my personality than architecture.

Und traulich eingewohnt, so droht Erschlaffen;

Phases

As every flower wilts and youth

gives way to age, so unfolds every phase,

all the wisdom and virtue

when it so does - and know that none lasts forever.

With every call of life, the heart

must be ready to part and start

again, in courage and joy,

surrendering to new, otherly liasons, as

In the core of every beginning lives magic

Magic that protects us and helps us live.

We are to stride along spaces, joyously,

clinging to none as thought it was home

the world soul does not seek to fetter and confine us;

phase after phase it wants to elevate and expand us.

slumber grows threatening as soon as we,

immersed in coziness, become used

to a cycle in our lives -

Only those ready to part, depart

may rid themselves of paralyzing habits.

Perhaps, as the call of life in us finds no end,

at the hour of our death we are still

to be faced with novel spaces. walk on then,

be off, be well!,

oh sweet heart of our

Perhaps my favorite castle on this tour is the one pictured here, Schloss Senden a more homely castle you will never find, held together by the good thoughts and the deeds of the local populace.

Built in the mid to late 15th century the schloss has seen it share of abuse throughout the centuries from being burned by the Spanish in the 80 years’ war to being ransacked and partially destroyed by the British during the Second World War.

Its recent history has seen its use as an old age home, boarding school and hotel/pension all of which failed miserably and the last occupation of a hotel for the castle saw the roof collapse due to fire.

The locals since 2007 have been trying to preserve this charming old place and find use for its preservation despite the owner threatening to demolish the place in 2014.

The Schloss cooperative and preservation society were spurred to action with the threat of demolition and purchased the castle during this turbulent period.

Today there is still much structural work that needs to be done but this old girl has become a favorite stop for bicyclists along the 100 Schloss route and much enjoyed by the locals during weekends surrounded by bike paths and walkways..

PS: Bärbel thinks I still have to write that Schladming is in Styria in Austria - as if you didn't know that ...

The "Initiative Schloss Senden" tried from 2007 to find through various activities, a new use for the castle complex and to protect the building from further decline. A report commissioned by the municipality of Senden revealed that, with a market value of half a million euros, renovation costs of between six and nine million euros have been recovered. However, the political community repeatedly rejected a financial commitment. After the owner in 2014 even threatened with a demolition of the monument, it came to founding the non-profit Friends of Schloss Send , who acquired the property and early 2015, first the building fabric by roofing and glazing secured.

Stufen

Steps

As every blossom withers and every youth

Gives way to age, every stage of life blossoms, Every wisdom also and every virtue Blossoms in its time and must not last forever.

With every call of life the heart must be ready to part and begin anew, To bravely and without mourning

To enter into other, new bonds.

And in every beginning there is a magic that protects us and helps us to live.

We want to pass cheerfully through room after room, clinging to none as to a home,

The spirit of the world does not want to tie us down and constrict us,

It wants to lift us step by step, to widen us.

No sooner are we at home in a circle of life, And settled in comfortably, then slackness threatens, Only those who are ready for departure and journey,

May break from paralysing habituation.

Perhaps even the hour of death

Will send us young towards new spaces,

Life's call to us will never end... Well then, heart, take leave and be well!

Either the church was standing on its tower, or I turned the picture by 180 degrees ;-)
