Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage est une commune française située dans le nord du département des Alpes-Maritimes en région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
Designed by architect H.O. Corfiato and built in 1951. I stumbled upon this church whilst wondering around Chinatown, Soho. What a surprise. Although I took this in HDR and could have brought the highlights back in the centre I decided not to as it looks as if something miraculous is about to happen!!! :-D

HDR photography by Timothy Selvage of reflections between a tunnel of mirrors, self-portrait. I was a little disappointed as I spent ages in the tunnel trying to get things just right. Everything looked great on the in camera LCD display but when I got home I was bitterly disappointed. All the mirrored pannels were filthy, covered in smears and marks. So dispite making sure that everything was as sharp as a pin, the reflections came out unclear and grubby. This led to things being processed with a dark mood.
Next time I'm taking some glass cleaner. Have you spent ages at a location only to find that things didn't come out as expected?

Founded in 1239 it was an Augustinian priory of Black Canons. It was a delight to experience the beautiful light inside St. Olave's Priory, Norfolk, UK. To soak up a world forgotten, a time past.
Notes: 'The wonderfully complete 14th century brick-vaulted refectory undercroft - later a cottage occupied until 1902 - of a small Augustinian priory'.

Vue du Col de la Bonette.
Le col de la Bonette est un col de montagne à 2 715 mètres d'altitude, où la route de la Bonette passe pour relier la vallée de l'Ubaye à celle de la Tinée.
Le col de la Bonette se situe entre la cime de la Bonette (2 860 m) et la cime des Trois Serrières (2 753 m). Une bonne partie de la route entre Jausiers et Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée est située en zone protégée du parc national du Mercantour.

I had actually planned to upload a different picture this evening but since then I have been inspired to change my workflow with the hope of adding a new dimension to the way I process images. However, I have not quite mastered this technique. When I saw the picture I was about to upload I knew it would be a great advocate for this new method so couldn't face uploading it as it was.
It was one of those moments when you realise that there is room for improvement, that you want to improve though haven't quite yet done so - but know how to. It's a positive moment, but is definitely riddled with frustration as you can't fast forward the learning process.
It's a tough call for me to make as I no longer want to upload anything as nothing seems good enough anymore, but at the same time I don't want to lose momentum and motivation. Sometimes it is better to produce something than forever wait for nothing (work in progress). Today I really began to understand the turmoil of immersing oneself in art. You can visualise what you want to produce but can't produce it just yet. It starts to burn inside and you begin to work frantically.....

HDR photograph by Timothy Selvage of stain glass windows at Coventry Cathedral, UK. What a week!! I've fallen behind with my processing and regular uploading as I've been working on a mini project that isn't (hold your breath) anything to do with HDR.
It's more experimental and progressive than completed though. But over the next I hope to get back to the more usual processing and uploads until I'm ready to post the new work.
This shot of the stain glass windows at Coventry Cathedral was a simple and satisfying shot. It was towards the end of an overcast day which made the inside of the church dark, but bright enough to illuminate these windows. In fact I think that the overcast light illuminated these windows evenly which gives this a soft glow rather than a glaring light.
I used HDR but only because of the spotlights. Otherwise I would have used two exposures, one for the room and one for the windows & reflections on the floor. In cast the windows as pictured are from a single exposure.
