Hopefully this pandemic ends soon, I'm missing going out farther afield with the camera.

If you think I'm coming back

This is the reason why I don't like self portraits. I am the epitome of insecurity. I am the kind of person who is uncomfortable with seeing my own face in photographs. I believe in inner beauty as much as outer beauty which makes me even more susceptible to uncertainty. I struggle with accepting what I look like and who I am. Do you?

Or maybe you fear being blamed

So you fake it whilst being ashamed

I have really neglected my artwork for the past few months and I have finally come to the realization of what seeking new eyes and not new landscapes truly means. I'm hoping that this will be a major turnaround in my life that will allow me to attend more focus to my ideas and I hope that it will spark a deeper meaning in my photos as well.

The latest project I have undertaken is a theme set up by the Definitely Superior Art Gallery (DefSup), called Dislocation.

In the past few days of thinking about this, I have had many thoughts regarding this subject buzzing around in my mind. Some of my thoughts have been regarding corporate greed, the loss of the human identity, as well as the loss of our own self identity. In our society, we are told how to work, learn, live, what to eat, and how to dress, and when it is okay to "retire"; but why? These thoughts, combined with my thoughts of the natural world around me made me feel completely dislocated. We now see animals as an unnatural intrusion into our environment, and we ourselves forget how ignorant we are towards nature because we have grown up in a world made up of completely unnatural things.

I am left to wonder: " true happiness... where does it lie...

In becoming more connected with the natural world around us?

Sometimes you just need to trust your instinct.

I'm thinking this may be one of my submissions.

One of a series of images, exploring identity, the images are looking at myself and my own identity with a blue cast on the work to show sadness, and the darkened scene to show lonelyness.

I'm very glad that my research project for my master program is finally finished!

My topic was "the use of therapeutic photography and creative writing for the purpose of forming self-identity".

It was very much inspired by the usual Flickr activity: photos are taken/uploaded and some writings are done as captions to the photos.

I've indeed learnt a lot about the values of photography and writing and I believe the learning has benefited my photography too.

Thank God and everyone who has supported me in the past year.

It was a tough journey but your accompany made my life a lot easier :)

And now, my summer holiday begins!

Essay: “PC Trans-Racial Politics” at wp.me/p4scHf-aB.

The escalation of Leftist identity politics continues apace with, first, Bruce Jenner’s alleged transformation into a woman (DNA does not lie) and, then, the discovery that a white NAACP leader has been masquerading as a black for many years.

Now a new generation, seeking to find itself, has lost its identity.

Bye Bye Flickr for now

I've realized after struggling and looking for my identity that everything I've done and everything that's around me lacks the substance that is needed to change things.

Nothing matters. The crumpled piece of paper in the photograph is my Artist Statement. It goes to show how much I respect my own work. Flickr will not see another uploaded photograph from me until I've come to a direction- until I've come to a message. I don't want to keep uploading shit. Until I have something to say, I won't say anything at all.

I leave you with this:

"So now I hang out down by the train's depot

No, I don't ride, I just sit and watch the people there

They remind me of windup cars in motion

The way they spin and turn and jockey for positions

And I want to scream out that it all is nonsense

And their life's one track and can't they see it's pointless?

But just then my knees give under me

My head feels weak and suddenly

It's clear to see it's not them but me

Who's lost my self-identity

And I hide behind these books I read

While scribbling my poetry

Like art could save a wretch like me

With some ideal ideology

That no one could hope to achieve

And I'm never real, it's just a sketch of me

And everything I've made is trite and cheap

And a waste

Of paint, of tape, of time

So I park my car down by the cathedral

Where the floodlights point up at the steeples

Choir practice is filling up with people

I hear the sound escaping as an echo

Sloping off the ceiling at an angle

When the voices blend they sound like angels

I hope there's some room still in the middle

But when I lift my voice up now to reach them

The range is too high way up in heaven

So I hold my tongue, forget the song

Tie my shoes, start walking off

And try to just keep moving on

With my broken heart and my absent God

And I have no faith but it's all I want

To be loved, and believe

In my soul, in my soul"

Art 435 - Self Identify/Who I'm Not. This assignment was to be a self portrait of who I'm not. I had a friend do my hair and makeup to have a little "glamour photo shoot" with myself. I loved the boa! This is definitely not the "everyday me".

BREAKING: New Book on #AnnCoulter – Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged – at bit.ly/2TttHtF.

Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged is the definitive (holistic) exposé of polemicist and Alt-Right icon Ann Coulter.

Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged is available at www.coulterwatch.com/joker.pdf.

Joker examines her words, actions, and worldview with startling observations and shattering conclusions. Joker explores her personal and professional agenda and the motivating factors which animate them. Joker reveals how Coulter came to become the person that people either love or hate and it reveals her impact in America and in the world.

From where do the contradictions and conundrums in Coulter’s life, work, and worldview arise? What are her (and their) emotional, psychological, and spiritual roots and what are the resulting political, cultural, and spiritual ramifications for America and the world?

Joker answers these questions and so much more.

Networking LIVE in a real KC coworking space, Plexpod Crossroads.

Handshake, Eye Contact, How are you, share name, lead with strengths and examples of you using those strengths. (strengths ranked 1-10 agilities.org/)

--"Lead with your Strengths" AND your accomplishments. (Not just accomplishments as was likely the way for your parents/guardians)

--"Be Spiderman!" Set the intention to connect yourself to as many people as possible. It matters. Don't think you're not important because you're in high school. The tech mentors told the kids, "We want you to come up to us at networking events. We look forward to it." You never know what doors and opportunities one connection can open up or spark!

--"The Art of the Followup." Meeting people is great and Purposeful followup is something to lean into. Step 1: Connect! Email is fine but there's no info about you. LinkedIn has a professional impact and it has your background and accomplishments. ADD your STRENGTHS to Linkedin! (Minimum age 16 LinkedIn)

Art 435 - Self Identify/Who I'm Not. This assignment was to be a self portrait of who I'm not. I had a friend do my hair and makeup to have a little "glamour photo shoot" with myself. I loved the red boa! This is definitely not the "everyday me".

from a bunch of oldies just scanned in for safe keeping
